The pick guard does make it pop better. Was plain before.

Just found this thread, I have 55 years under my belt, I will soon be thinning my herd. My hands are no longer working so I plan on selling most of mine soon. It is just so hard to get rid of any my ax,s
I still have my 64 Jag that I used on the New York worlds fair gig. This one will go to my son. The last guitar I purchased was a Joe B. Goldtop Les Paul. Dan Earlwine set the guitar up and it has been out of the case 6 times. Dan is a friend of mine.

@Sgt.Tee Very cool. I've been at it 23 years. Guitars are like kids to me. Hard to let them go, each with their own stories and memories. Handing off to friends and family is the best way.

I was in a band about 4 years ago playing bass. This is the closest to a polished song we got. We only played together a few months and they were all way better than me but they needed a bassist

Dropped a new gold Rio Grande Pickups BuffaloBucker into my SG. Nice vintage tone and looks way better than having 2 black pickups with all that gold hardware.

I might get a matching bridge pickup from Rio Grande now and keep the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pros for another build. I got the neck pickup for 70% off open-box, so might have to wait for a deal on the bridge one. They retail for $160 each. Ouch!

Those are beautiful guitars. I used to have a Custom Elite LX, but it just wasn't loud enough unplugged for the bluegrass jams I was playing in. Kinda with I hadn't sold it.

I'd like one of these customs but they run like 3K.....

I am self taught and play a lot of stuff that is blues/jazz and bluegrass influences.

Understand the wish i wouldn't have sold, my green one was awesome, and my new one has tiny de-lamination of the inlays. doesnt effect the sound of the guitar but i know its there.

Did you have to restring after the install or do you have one of those string spreaders?
I been meaning to get one for some small luthier jobs I can do at home.

But other stuff, especially with my Roadstars and vintage kramer..i just let my regular guy handle it. It's summer and I just ain't got time for that.
