Any idea what this aftermarket switch does?

I don't notice anything happening when I toggle it.

I have an aftermarket stereo with backup camera but the switch doesn't do anything to it, although of course it's possible the wiring is bad.

I bought the truck a month ago.

That's a generic switch, you can't really tell what it does by looking at it.

The only surefire way to tell what its purpose is is to remove the panel and trace the wire as far as you can, it's bound to lead somewhere.

It could be a variety of things like off-road lights, driving lights, some kind of LIGHT, accessory power, etc etc. The possibilities are endless.

Might be yellow wire mod or abs kill switch?

It could also be a valet switch for an old alarm system

    Could be a possibility.

My best guess is that if the wire leads out of the firewall, it's an aftermarket accessory. If it's connected or spliced to the factory wiring harness somehow it can disable/enable some factory function such as ABS/Traction Control.

That is for the radio wave scrambler/jamming device. Keeps government mind control rays out of your vehicle...

    nothing cool
I have a bunch of toggle and push button switches in a box from when I used to work on guitars and amps. Some day if I ever trade my truck I should mount a bunch of random switches in various locations inside my truck. Confuse the Shizzle out of the new owner.

I'd bet on kill switch or valet/override. OP, do you have an alarm?

This could be a switch installed for your aftermarket stereo to ground out a parking wire, giving you the ability to watch dvds, go into settings or even some gps functions while your driving. I have that exact same switch that was installed by a stereo shop to allow me(passenger) to have complete control of the unit even while driving

You said it had an aftermarket sound system, does it have a double den radio? It may be to override the parking brake lockout to watch moves driving down the road.

Based on the labels on the switch, I will go way out on a limb and say it turns something on and off.

When I picked mine up it had an LED in one of the blanking plates next to the fog lights. No switch, just an LED. Has wires running through the firewall to the battery, but that's all I can find. Drives me nuts :annoyed:
