I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma short bed. 5 feet. Anybody have any ideas on ways to sleep in the bed. Some kind of covered bed extender that is compatible with a camper shell?

Topper with a platform and sleep corner to corner? Hope you aren't tall:boink:

Otherwise theres some youtubers with a cap+slide out extender that come out when the tailgate is down.

Tailgate down and one of those bed tents that go over the tailgate, which will make an almost 7 ft bed.

This is what I’ve been doing when the RTT isn’t on. I have a box the same height as my platform that spans the gap between my platform (4’) and the tailgate. Works pretty well.
Oh, and three fingers of rye prior to bed, that helps.

I leave the tailgate down, close a blanket in the back window of the shell, and sleep at an angle...a good dose of alcohol helps too.

Screw sleeping in the bed of a truck. It's just as easy to throw up a small tent and a LOT more comfortable.

    This is my setup:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...storage-systems.424709/page-121#post-24844329
I was made aware of the DAC and platform idea at the following post (other members had recommended that I try one out as well after hearing about my loud tarp issues):
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...n-scenic-places.300429/page-477#post-24730402

I just received the size medium DAC tent to replace my tarp which was extremely loud in the wind (the fabric). I have a Snugtop HiLiner so the fit is tight. I have not used it yet but here are some pics.

I would normally just put up the old ground tent.
