Hi guys, new to the forum. Was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for reducing the glare or reflection that comes of the hood scoop? I thought about trying to buy a matte finish decal or sticker, but would like to hear of any other ideas people have.

I have my GPS, and Ultragauge mounted close to the Dash hump so it is in the way of the glare. The new 16's I guess can get a matte sticker

You can get some vinyl wrap and do your own racing stripe or something.

You should be able to pound the scoop flat with a rubber mallet.

I painted the raised portion of the hood with bedliner at the body line. I can post pics when I'm by the computer. Clear coat over it and it will be easier to clean / still refracts light in multiple directions.

I love how people think that only scooped hoods get glare and if you get a flat hood it miraculously goes away. You still get glare just at different angles & different times of the day. Simple geometry. I speak from experience because I've had my truck for about 4 years now and it came with a flat hood which I changed to a scooped hood about two years after getting it. Same frequency and intensity of glare. It's not rocket surgery folks.

Actually, the best way I know of to "reduce glare from the hood" is to apply a thick healthy coating of MUD and/or DIRT!

This. Then you can choose whatever shape and colour you want, and easily remove it any time you want to change it up.

Real men just call it camping
Traded for a non-scooped hood personally. It does make a BIG difference. Any means of applying a dark matte finish is a good option too.

Somebody near you will trade with you...quickly.
