any ideas on do it yourself mods???

I've got an 02 tacoma x-cab, anyone know of any cheap mods, or do it yourself type stuff? Doesnt matter if its interior or exterior.

Damn, you beat me to it.

 

If you plan on taking the truck through any kind of water then do the diff breather extension, very easy and cheap. If you have a trd 4x4 then also do the grey wire mod, you can lock the rear diff in 2wd, 4hi, and 4lo. There are many other relatively cheap mods you can do just look through the site. Have fun, it's very addicting.

They're right, search around and you'll find a ton. First and foremost, do the deckplate mod - it's a must-do if you have the 3.4L V6. I've learned all sorts of free/cheap mods that can be done since I've joined the forum. Here's a list of some I've personally done that I found on TW:

- deckplate mod
- gray wire mod
- power outlet mod
- defrost w/o compressor mod
- O type throttle body gasket
- braided SS brake lines
- rear diff. breather extension (doing this tomorrow)
- remove resonators/silencers (cheap & easy, but I just replaced the intake tube)

I'm pretty sure I've done some other small things, but my mind isn't working right now. And Blumpkinson is right - it's addictive...
