    He's right you know. ^^

Fix the issue and the light will go away. The plug they use to gain access into the computer will show any pending codes or current codes stored into the PCM and will immediately let the machine know you have a problem. Light on or not. They aren't the ones failing it, it's the machine automatically failing it for them.

Those "'tards" are actually some of the most diverse, knowledgable and intelligent technicians out there you will meet. Most of the time they know what they are doing, all up and down the car.

Not too hard to replace a knock sensor, unless you're a tard.

Remove air intake, separate TB from manifold, remove manifold from engine, presto, knock sensor is right there. It is actually as easy as it sounds.

I hear it is. Typical Toyota design, solid, but when it fails they make it a bitch to work on just because they like to complicate your life.

It isn't "the tard's" fault, it's yours. If there's something broken on your truck, fucking fix it. You are not the only person to ever have this problem, plenty of people need to repair their vehicles when parts wear out, just like you.

Sometimes, I think that the factory techs get so disgusted with the myriad "add-on", governmentally dictated doo dads - that the factory deliberately makes them so that they can get re-paid for the lost time and effort to cram them on there, test them and then get them "certified"............... Engineers can be vindictive too.
Trouble is the multiplication factor - due to the sheer numbers of effected vehicles, the "payback" profit is outrageous - and resulting customer aggravation exceeds all expectations. My wife and I - and several others I can think of - have just flat DUMPED fairly new vehicles that had "techno faults" - that exceeded their usefulness.

That manifold removal doesn't seem so easy.

Easy, yes. Time consuming, yes also. Lol.

If someone plans on pulling off a task like this, they better plan on putting a good portion of their morning or afternoon aside. If that doesn't take care of the problem that would severely suck!

What was fairly easy for you and myself isn't so easy to the less technically inclined. Even if there is an instruction manual or step by step tutorial provided.

You're gonna pay a lot for the fix or do it yourself. If there is a code, it's the law, yea it sucks. They must fail it, 'tards or not. You could sell the truck and get a 1969 pickup that don't have such devices here.

Or move somewhere else where they don't do emissions checks.

Wait till you have one with TPMS sensors in the wheels. The battery only lasts 5-8 years and MUST be replaced at $60+ per wheel when they go bad.

Don't you love electronics and emission laws?
