Anybody know why my truck squeaks when I turn the wheel? I initially thought it was my sway bar bc both top and bottom end links had torn bushings, I ended up removing the sway bar. After removing the sway bar, the squeak is still there
Even with the truck on jack stands and wheels off, it still squeaks when I turn the wheel.
No other rubber boots are torn. I tried shaking the wheel from 9-3 o’clock and 12-6 o clock, there was a little bit of play from 9-3 o clock. Thinking it might be the ball joints...

Stock UCAs? Might be the ball joins. Have someone jiggle the steering wheel back and forth whilst you hold the top of the ball joint. Sound feel the squeak/vibration isolated there.

Yes stock uca. Planning buying new uca and front suspension. But would like to figure out where this squeak is coming from. By jiggle I assume you mean shake it as if you’re trying to pull it out?

No, more like a five year old sitting in grandpas pickup. Have them turn the wheel side to side in short strokes, back and forth just enough to recreate the squeak. They can even make “vroom vroom” noises for full effect.

Kidding aside, Something like 11 o’clock to 1 o’clock should be enough to recreate the noise.

Lol. I actually did have my gf do that for me right after I took off my sway bar, with the wheels off, it would squeak more towards when the steering wheel is almost full locked, in both sides. with the truck on the ground; it does squeak a bit sooner when turning the wheel. I’ll have to try out what you mentioned

Push the truck from the drivers side while parked and rock it back and forth. This is a good way to tell if it is ball joints. Best help I have for you.
