I know my truck has a brand new, very large, battery. I'm pretty sure I'll be okay without a secondary battery just for the camera.

Now I'm leaning back towards the 800 pro, with the BBMC generic wiring kit.

@USDashCamera so, now I am debating a thinkware vs blackvue (was going to get the DR590-2ch as i do not necessarily need cloud or wifi). I like that the wiring is much cleaner, and push button off when I'm garaged at home is nice.
Are there recommended alternatives besides the F800 and F800 Pro which have 128gb compatibility with the same cutoff capabilities (or similar) when hardwiring?

FYI the non pro f800 does not support 128gb only 64gb. I think that was a terrible choice by thinkware to try to pressure people to get the pro.

Off the top of my head I can't think of any other comparable cams with to blackvue and thinkware that has a similar power button as thinkware. I think the LG innotek cam blackboxmycar has a power switch but it's an on/off switch. Thinkwares is a button you hold to turn it off, so next time you turn your vehicle on the camera still turns on. The only cams I can think of with power switches are on/off switches so you have to switch them back on each time. I am forgetful and know I'd forget all the time. On some came that don't have audio notifications I've forgotten to put a memory card back in and had no clue I was driving without recording so I know I'd forget to turn a cam back on lol.

Sounds like it comes down to determining if I want to spend a few hundred more on the F800 Pro, or stick with the Dr590-2ch and deal with extra wires and a less clean install then. Thanks for the feedback!

I purchased the "commitment" deposit Friday. Planning on getting the F800 Pro. Hope I wasn't too late. Don't see me on the list...

So I originally I was going to go with Blackvue.... but might go with Thinkware instead. I understand the commitment is good for either?

Yup it's for either, ended up just being 10% off anything on a $250+ order instead of cam specific.

Also, with the dr590-2ch, what else do I need besides the cameras and hardwire kit? I' gonna get the memory cards off Amazon.

They did say to buy two if you were gonna buy two kits, that would assure we get 16 but tbh I think we are for sure getting 16. It's refunded anyways tho so if you wanna help make sure you could buy two if you're gonna do two systems.

And the only other thing I would recommend are mini add a fuses to hook up the power magic pro. 3 or 5 amp fuses should be fine for the dashcam.

Cool! Now I'm thinking two f800 pros and two dr590s. I appreciate your legwork!

So I am about to pull the trigger, but I really want to be sure we'll get to 10%. What's the current tally?

If it comes down to it, I'll pay four separate deposits to ensure our full GB discount since I'll be ordering four cameras. I think there are 11 or 12 now, so that would do it.

3 days ago we were at 10 and I know several people were planning on paying this weekend. I sent over an email for a current tally and we still were keeping it open until wednesday so hopefully tomorrow we know for sure if we hit 16.
