I didn't have time to make a video today but I tried doing a factory restart by holding the emergency record and mute button for 5 seconds and it starts beeping.

It had a little trouble connecting so I just closed the app and retried. It does seem to have issues sometimes during set up. It still had my hotspot stuff saved tho so when I turn that on it just auto connects.

If anyone still has issues and factory resetting like I did I would for sure go to blackboxmycar.com and use their lie chat.

Dunno why the f800 has been giving so many people wifi issues, the f770 seemed flawless.

FYI I believe if you update your firmware it resets all the settings. I had to turn parking mode back on and my memory card priority settings after updating the firmware today.

Noticed that too. Still can’t get it to connect to hotspot but can connect it via web go to my phone. Not sure what the difference between the two is.

Tbh the hotspot doesn't do much other than allow the cloud feature but the cloud feature is so limited if you aren't gonna use the cloud feature you're fine just using a wifi connection.

I haven’t messed with it for a few weeks but mine would not hook up to the WiFi the last I tried. I had to update, only then would it hook up via hotspot. But, I have not messed with it for a few weeks. Been busy with wiring jobs and life.

Sweet. Have no desire to use that much data for the cloud feature.

@USDashCamera looking forward to your video on the settings you chose and why. Got mine all installed and somewhat set up this weekend. Pretty cool so far!

    @USDashCamera RE: Priority --
Wouldn't setting priority to Incident achieve the same result that you are seeking by setting priorty to Parking? This way incidents for all modes are covered.

I did have issues with the hotspot no longer connecting. After reading this thread, I tried pressing the Wifi button once more and it allowed hotspot connectivity. Boy Thinkware really needs to improve documentation and the mobile applications. All-in-all, once you get things configured and understand the different nuances of the software and mobile application, the device just runs.

I wish the Daylight Saving feature didn't exist and would auto enable/disable behind the scenes based on GPS connectivity. Having to remember to swap that with each change can easily be missed.

incident recording is just impact recordings so that includes while you are driving and it senses an impact. parking includes the motion based parking recordings.

and i agree about the day light savings, it seems strange that they can't automatically sync time with the GPS.

So if one opts to use Energy Savings mode in place of Motion Detection, using the Incident priority is likely the best option?

I have neighborhood stray cats that would trigger motion detection far too often when jumping on the truck. I didn't want to risk a dead battery due to the camera, so I enabled ES for all months and set voltage to 12.2v.

So I went in to review my footage and noticed it is continuously recording even while parked (was gone 2 days so I have 2 days of video of the front of my office). Any thoughts as to which setting is to fix that?

    My thoughts...

Do you have motion detection enabled? That may be the culprit. Imagine if you park on a busy street and have motion detection enabled. One would think it would:
    • Record non-stop until it hits the auto-shutoff time defined in settings; or,
    • Your memory card fills up; unless you have overwrite enabled for motion detection

Thought I turned motion off but will check again, seems this thing likes to reset certain settings on its own.

I think the firmware update resets all settings. I haven't experienced settings resetting/changing on their own so far.

Checked the settings, I don’t have motion enabled but it is still doing it. I have the parking timer set at 48hrs.
