Any interest in a dash cam group buy?

any one else have problems with their fn800 pro not saving the settings you previously set. like I changed the settings to record continuously in parking mode but when I go back into the app everything goes to default.

 

Thinkware app sucks wont let me stay connect to the camera! I am trying to configure settings and it keeps crashing Cant do anything anyone else having these problems?

 

I don't ever remember it crashing, but maybe it's worth reinstalling the app and factory resetting the camera.

 

I Think I figured it out was using the wrong app. The cloud one is working and saving the settings the viewer app is not working with the F800pro

 

Well it took me a few tries to find the correct fuse and I mounted the rear camera upside down (I'll fix that tomorrow). Camera is working.

I purchased the BlackVue 750S 2 channel. Is there a function (other than manually flipping the camera) to invert the rear camera view. Mine is recording upside down. I mounted it so the writing on the camera is right side up. Reading through the manual, I am not seeing any info on this. Can you help?

 

I know there was a setting in the app for the pro. Not sure if they use the same one.

I drove the truck today and found the option in the firmware.

 

yea there are two different thinkware apps, i did the same thing because i went from a f770 to the f800 and assumed i could use the same app. wasted bunch of time in frustration hah.

 

cant recall on the 750s, don't have it on hand anymore. I am testing the DR590 right now tho and there seems to be an option. If its not in the settings on the app or PC/mac app it might not have it. its not unusual for blackvue cams to have different options than others, its sort of frustrating.

honestly if I were you I would just reinstall the camera. I seriously did the exact same thing with my DR550GW-2CH years ago haha. Did it come with a spare adhesive? I can't remember if the 750S did when I got it for review, I know they usually do have one extra for both cams.

Otherwise if you go to target or walmart they should have it near the super glue and tape in packs of strips. 3M sells the same stuff called "VHB" tape. i know target sells it in packs of 2"x1" strips you can just cut down.

edit: although you should probably double check and make sure you didn't change a setting to flip the rear camera first. the text should definitely be right side up.

the way I always install blackvue cams now, is if you are looking TOWARDS the window from OUTSIDE, the mount should be to the left of the lens. so when you are inside the car looking at the cam, the mount is always to the right of the lens. pretty sure thats how its always been with blackvue cams for 4+ years, front and rear cams.

Okay, I’ve been lazy. I installed my main camera, but have yet to run the wire all the way to the back of my shell for my rear.

Is the supplied wire long enough, or do I need a longer one?

Camera is the 800 Pro.

 

I needed an extension but depends on how you wire it i guess. I wired it along the passenger a pillar, then went under the plastic trip along the bottom of the door, and out the firewall under the front passenger seat. used palstic tubing to protected the cable and used zip ties to wire it along the frame, then had it come out and up right along the edge of the tailgate frame on the passenger side. I think I ran out of cable at the top of my topper so i needed a few more feed to get to the center. If I were you I would wire it how you want first, then measure how much you need. i ended up with too much slack and had to tie up slack at the top of my topper.

 

@USDashCamera Curious... Do your incident recordings have sound? I think mine don't.

F800 Pro here.

Have any of you had issues with the WiFi connection to the dash cam interfering with other signals getting to your phone? I.e. Pandora and receiving texts.

 

Yes. My phone seems to think it’s a normal WiFi connection, and doesn’t realize it needs to still use LTE for data.

I’m not thrilled about that, and their software seems to be hit-or-miss when connecting to the cam.

well in general you would only want to connect to it when you are changing settings or saving files. I am pretty sure it actually stops recording while connected via WiFi even. If you want to be connected without interruption to the camera or your phone you would need to do the hot spot setting.

 

I guess I thought it needed to be connected via WiFi constantly. The camera keeps the recordings on the memory card, if I do need to view it I would then turn on WiFi, I got it now. Please forgive my ignorance with this technology, I'm still not good with my PC.
