First page shows 11 for the thinkware/blaclvue, on the 5th page list it shows 13. Did some back out, or is the first page just not updated?

Few people were just unsure. I didn't update the second list. The list in the original post will be the official count.

Bump. Had a jack wagon pull out in front of me last night. 45 mph zone, the SOB was looking right towards me when he did it. I'm ready to buy.

just wanted to update people, this is not going to be limited to just the f800 pro or dr750s-2ch now, the f800 (non pro) and dr590-2ch are available also for this. they are both cheaper than the high end models. the f800 (non pro) lacks 128gb card support, 64gb max, and does not have the cloud feature. the cloud feature is so limited tho on thinkware if you care about cloud you would want the dr750s-2ch. The f800 is also gray, where the f800 pro is black.

the blackvue dr590-2ch has the same image sensor as the 750 but it has no wifi and wifi can not be added. it also has no gps but gps can be added with a dongle if you want gps. its a great option for people who don't want to spend $400+.

What are the differences between hardware kits on the 590? Now really leaning towards that one ;)

the blackvue B-112 is a battery. plugs into a 12v port and can power your camera for parking mode so you don't have to run it off your truck battery. the power magic pro just hooks up to your fuse panel, to an ACC fuse, and then a BATT fuse, and a ground. when your truck shuts off the power magic pro has a timer you can set (for example 6 hours, or 48 hours or infinite) that it will keep powering your camera for. it will cut off if your car battery is getting too low. you can set that too from 12v to 12.2v for example.

personally if i was gonna spend $150 for the B-112 I would just for over the extra $70 for the cellink battery b, its better and you can hardwire it too.

you dont NEED a battery pack tho, it can help in very cold climates so you arent draining your truck battery to low levels all the time. part of the reason companies in korea started making them is because some types of cars have issues when you hardwire stuff to the fuses. i think it was just luxury cars or bmws or some high end cars tho, nothing like toyota or honda.

with just one 2ch blackvue camera you are probably fine using the power magic pro which is much cheaper and has the timer function, the batteries do not. thinkware cams have a timer built into them, because they know when your truck is off. blackvue cameras actually switch to parking mode based on the g sensor. if it senses you havent moved in 3 or 5 min (cant recall exactly) it switches to parking, then when you start driving it switches back. thinkwares basically have the power magic pro built into them so the hardwire kit is just the cables. i prefer this method, but the dr590-2ch camera is a really great camera for much cheaper.

if you live in a cold northern climate i would just recommend setting the power magic pro at 12.2 volts and not use too long of a timer. what can happen if you set it to 12v, which happened to me this year with one of my cams (i have several lol) using a power magic pro style connection, it got down to 12v and cut power the the camera, but then because it was -10 degrees F the battery continued to drop over night and i needed a jump start.

Are any of the rear cameras waterproof? I would need to mount my rear camera on my rack or spare tire carrier.

Great thread, thanks for your hard work and persistence OP!

Please put me up for a SGGCX2 v4 . Super price, if we can get to the minimum of of 11 orders ($35 off) .

This will be my first experience with a dash cam. This brand / model seems to be the most durable (metal case), top components (Novatek, Sony, glass lens), best warranty (2-yrs), and great customer service!

This is a good CYA in a crazy world. Plus, we might get videos of aliens landing on our fav 2-track :yay:

I just installed my Thinkware F770, I am not liking the video quality when I compare it to street guardian. I can't see license plates clearly even up close in a short stop... And from what I am seeing the F800 pro is only a slight upgrade in terms of video quality.

I hope street guardian releases their parking mode kit soon so I can replace this.

street guardian might add one later for their 2 channel model but it will likely be a pricey add on. they had that option for a rear water proof cam for the sgzc12rc and it was $80.
