Check out the dr590-2ch. It seems to be a pretty good setup and VERY affordable. I think I'm going to get one of those for the wife's car for now.

the street guardian sg9663dc is a dual channel with a rear cam. i think if you want to save money the dr590-2ch from blackvue is the best deal tho. the street guardian has better video quality tho.

Does the dr590 have a rear cam?

Your first post is very confusing understanding what’s going on. I’m also on my phone. I’ll need to research it a bit when I get on a computer. I guess just to many options haha. Do I need to order 250 bucks worth of stuff to get the discount?

yea the minimum is $250. sorry my post became so cluttered. its technically 3 different group buys. street guardian has two separate ones. blackboxmycar has another that sells the blackvue or thinkware cams.

and yes the DR590-2CH has a rear cam, 1080p front and rear, same sony image sensor as the high end DR750S-2CH but it lacks wifi, cloud, and no 60fps front. its only 30fps front and rear. GPS is also not built in, but you can buy a dongle.

Im in for the dr590 2ch.

How long is the cable to the rear camera? I would want to put it on the back class of my topper.
what fuse tap should I get for the power magic pro?
How many hours do you get out of a certain sd card?

not quite sure on the length, if i were you I would measure how long you need and ask blackboxmycar. they have a chat box on their site and will typically get back to you quickly. They sell fuse taps on the site but i wouldn't be surprised if they are over priced. tacomas use mini or low profile fuses so you just need two addafuses with the mini fuse piggy back. low profile is just inconvenient to me I always use mini when I replace old ones.

    https://dashcamtalk.com/recording-time-calculator/

thats a calculator for estimated recording time. dr590 uses 12mbps front and 10mbps rear so i choose 11 mbps, and with a 128gb card thats 26.5 hours. but remember its a two channel so that means 13.25 hours. thats pretty excellent because if you park in a busy spot all day for work for 9-10 hours and it happens to record non stop from non stop motion detection, you know you'll still have several hours before you even got to work.

with a 32gb card it would be only 6.6 hours, or 3.3 hours per channel which is not much at all if you use parking mode with motion detection.

@USDashCamera Put me down for a thinkware, probably the F800 Pro for my Tacoma. Might get a dash cam for my daily driver too, but probably something cheaper than the F800 Pro for that vehicle.

Thanks for this thread! I have had two incidents recently and really need a dash cam asap...

Do you know when we might be able to purchase these?

Also on a different note...are Blackvue and Thinkware the same parent company or something? Their products seem so similar and yet so different. Has anyone had experience with both or why they would choose one over the other? I like the Thinkware more overall but the Blackvue can utilize a much larger sd card...

@USDashCamera, between the Thinkware F800 Pro and Blackvue DR750S-2Ch, which has the cleaner install on our Tacoma? Less wires, matches the dashboard, out of sight, etc.

i think the thinkware has the better install. if you aren't doing an aux battery like the cellink battery the blackvue still needs the power magic pro which puts a small little box with dipswitches and a power button that needs to be within reach of you (at least for convenience) where thinkwares hardwire kits (including the blackboxmycar generic one) has that power magic pro stuff built in so its just wires that go to your fuse box.

If you had to choose between those two cameras, not factoring in price, just the preferred setup. Things like the WiFi, parking mode and best clarity in case of need to read a license plate taken into consideration.

i think the blackvue dr750s-2ch has better license plate readability due to its front 60 fps. but when i tested them side by side it wasn't a big enough difference for me to prefer the blackvue. for me the blackvue is mostly the choice if you want the cloud feature but i cant make use of that so i prefer the f800 pro for other reasons.
