Thanks much! EGR is what’s in the plan, there Advertised as low profile and the ts what I want. The less sticking out the better.

I have weather tech's on my 2018 and have had no issue, no wind noise, no movement, window on auto or manual goes up and down fully without issue. Install was easy peasy and I think they look great (and having a dog and living in a rainy climate they are a must have for me).

I installed the visors this weekend and I called a local tint shop to inquire about getting front windows tinted. I did inform him I had the in channel visors on and he said that will be no problem at all.

I just installed the low profile AVS in channel vent visors and after using them for about 2 weeks now the only issue I have had is the 'auto up' feature on the front windows does not work anymore. When the window goes up and hits the visor it goes back down, I never use the 'auto up' feature that often so it is not a deal breaker for me but may be for someone else. I thought I would share.

I've had the AVS's installed for 5 years now with zero issues. That's 2 years less than this revived thread! :bananadance:

I've had in channel AVS in several vehicles, my wife has weathertech as it was only option. It's best to install in warm weather and leave window up for at least 24 hours without rolling down. This keeps pressure on outside of visor and lets adhesive stick properly. This will lessen any problems.

I agree, I used avs on everything my whole family has owned thought out the years but lately I notice the vent shades are more flimsy then they use to be, almost like the thickness has been reduced, & they crack easier if your not careful installing them. As far as main topic I’ve had no issues (knock on wood) mine was already tinted with inchannels (which appear to be Amazon, weird name brand) when I bought her.

1 thing I did going into the install for this reason (no matter the brand) is take a folded up piece of cardboard and place between the glass and visor when up for the 1st 24hrs to make sure the adhesive had a better chance. Never a problem, going on 7 yrs now

"between the glass and visor" ? or against inside or outside insulation of window ?

Yes, the glass is supposed to be against the visor inside the channel so add something between while it’s “curing” to add additional pressure, maximizing adhesion and giving yourself some play. Just in the front corners because they can tend to catch if the adhesive doesn’t stick fully.

Had them on an 83 ranger (CHROME BABY!) and then the smoked Lexan on a 93 Ranger.
On my 2000 Xterra all I could get was the external stick ons and they are great but fall off in a car wash after a year or two.

My ISSY Auto ones on the Taco now are my 2nd set because the first set MELTED! They got chalky, crazed and melted. Total UV Failure. Hoping it was a bad batch of plastic but ISSY did send me a replacement set for FREE.

Other than that - never had an issue with them. My advice would be to go Name Brand. Wished someone like Weather Tech made them.

    Wow, just wow!

Had mine on for 8 years now.... and had them on all my other previous vehicles.

Soooo much better than the stick on ones that always break on you.

I have the in-channel Weathertechs and they're great but add a ton of noise on the highway.

I had the AVS shades on 3 Tacomas, all had tinted windows. 2017,2018 and most recently 2023. Never had any issue with the shades or tint.

Mine make no perceptible noise at all.

Mmmmm.... Then again I have persistent tinnitus and can't hear the wife when she is next to me and I'm not watching her lips move. Life, in general, sounds like road and wind noise to me all of the time.
Maybe I'm not the best guy to tell you what they do or do not sound like.

Your company must suck, or use cheap tint? I've had Weathertech in channel sinse 2010, with absolutely no issues what so ever. They must be using cheap tint, or not know what they are doing.
