Toyota’s software is pretty buggy, and the entire UI experience is really bad. I can’t figure out who signed off on this release. Oh wait, Chief Engineer Sheldon Brown did.

To be fair, automotive UI's have been pretty awful across the board, pretty much from when the concept of "infotainment" was invented. Not saying that it's acceptable. Just that it's pretty typical.

How do you disable reporting to insurance?

You do that within the phone app. But today can't replicate the stickiness I was able to do all day yesterday. So, I will default back to reporting the bug to the dealer. That is really the only bug that I notice. Other than the awkwardness switching between Android Auto and Toyota's system. Figure that I just need to get my brain mapped.

They are insanely bad. WAY to many layers to get to a setting. Resetting a Trip A meter is like going down a rabbit hole.

Oh, and it's like the 14" screen doesn't even exist. WTF?

Right now, I have Drive Pulse, Insure Connect, and Wi-Fi connect declined but have Safety Connect, Service Connect and Remote Connect subscriptions active. Settings are currently sticky. Haven't tinkered with it anymore yet.

But I did catch up that comet!
    IMG_6666.jpg

I'll probably disable everything again and turn the subscriptions on one at a time to see when the problem stops.

This is kind of a tangent but... I'm pretty big into PC games, which have long been notorious for being released buggy and unfinished and needing patches. The analogy that has long been used to explain why this should be unacceptable was 'imagine if your new car arrived like this'. Well, here we are. I hate the future.

Had mine at the dealer today for 5K service and to check this issue. Tech claims he could not find anywhere in the user manual that the TPMS should save ?! A stupid answer of course - they have it up with the director of service. Will advise here if I get a reply

Similar to other members, I’ve formally logged the issue with my dealer and they are reaching out to Toyota as well. My assumption is that it will get resolved in some future software update …

Another interesting thing I’ve found while following this thread is that some mentioned the varying subscriptions / services that are offered and a potential connection the the TPMS display. I have accessed every menu in the app (and within the vehicle) and some of the above mentioned services do not appear for me. For example “drive pulse” and “insure connect” do not appear within anything whatsoever that I have the ability to opt-in or opt-out of. With that being the case, I personally cannot validate whether those have any impact on the TPMS memory in my particular case.

I had to opt out using the SOS button in the cab of the truck for two services. Unfortunately, I forget what particular services I had to do this with. I spoke to a live operator and opted out of them when I first got the truck

    Too poor for mods
I don't have those either. Are there different connected services in different states maybe? I'm in CA

Same has been going on for me since I bought my 2024 Tacoma in August 2024.

For whatever reason, whatever I select on the right side of the 3-group cluster, such as tire pressure, my desired selection will only last for a minimal period of time, and then it ALWAYS reverts back to the "TRIP B" option. VERY FRUSTRATING. Left and center positions remain as desired.

    Kill me.

Interesting. I don’t think anybody has mentioned that particular behavior before. Definitely it not holding into the tire pressure monitor, but it not holding other things is new. My right side has been set to the fuel economy one (not ECO, but the one that shows the instantaneous and average fuel economy as a graph and the average as a number). I have it saved to my profile and linked to my key. My wife’s is set the same way.

I wonder if this is some glitch related to the profiles.

I thought mine somehow fixed itself I was going to post. My tpms usually switched to trip like every 5-7 times I checked it. Over the past two weeks I must have checked it 50 times with no change...Checked on my way to work this am back to trip

Somewhat related to this topic. Could the physical gauges out of the Tundra fit the Tacoma?

I can't see Toyota going backwards in time and getting rid of the digital display gauge cluster. I belive SR and SR5 Tundra have the physical gauges, which will probably go all digital moving forward. I just like looking at physical gauges.

Do you leave it on screen 3 all the time? If not every 5-10 times you switch over to look at it it should switch to a trip screen.

No, I roll around in screen 1
When I want to view tire pressure is when I switch to screen 3.

What do majority of you run on the bottom of center screen 1?
I display what im guessing road graphic image that usually just days active cruise control or something like that all the time...
Briefly looked at the other options & I was like, meh..o_O
