I'm considering the purchase of an 2018 TRD Off Road with the premium package. Just wondering if there have been any issues with its components especially the moon roof, heated "leather" seats and all of the high tech "stuff". I am a firm believer that "simple is good" so this package would be a big change for me.

I was destined for that package. Just make sure you're not too tall. Coming from a second gen, it was so dang cramped. I ended up with just the tech package so I could fit.

It is leather trimmed. Mostly headrests and outside portion of seats

Love my 18 off road with tech and prem. I’m 6ft. Any taller and it would be annoying. Only issue is mirror sits close to you. I’m coming from an fj which had huge headroom.

No issues with mine, the sunroof and heated seats are awesome.

Your head will be resting on it. I'm 6'1 and there was no room to be had.

You have to try for yourself, different people, different proportions. I'm 6'2", I fit fine with leather seats and sunroof in my truck, less headroom than my second gen (I could have worn a cowboy hat in that thing), but plenty of room. I was worried about it from what I'd read online, turns out I personally have no issues with headroom. Go sit in a truck and see for yourself.

I don't know how you could have "plenty" of room. I could see sitting in a position where it doesn't rest on the headliner, but there's no way there is extra room. I guess it could feel like a little more room if you had a shaved head, but even if that's the case I hit a speed bump and nailed my head on the roof at 6'1.

We must have a weird configuration here in the Southeast because you can get Tech and premium packages without leather and without sunroof.

Wow- having the moon roof as part of the package was a deal breaker for me and was one of the (many) reasons why I went for the Pro. Here in the Northeast, I tried to ask if I could get a OR with all the packages and no moonroof, and they came back and said it was not possible.

As for all the high tech stuff - absolutely loving it. This is the first time I've had safety features such as Adaptive Cruise control and its really amazing not having to reset cruise every time you need to pass someone in the highway.

As for moonroofs - after a terrible experience with having our Rav4 moonroof shatter (for no apparent reason) during a long multi-day trip (had to do some patchwork stuff with plastic bags to overcome the rain and finish the drive) we avoid moon roofs at all costs. We've also had other issues like random a twig getting caught in there and limiting the movement of the moon roof. Just my preference.
