    New paint is terrible.

My 2008 Ranger, which I treat terribly, has fine paint. In fact, on the bed, the paint is literally the only thing keeping it together. The sheet metal underneath has turned to dust. I rarely wash it, bash through everything, and it just has a few swirls. Not even a chip. I even use the cruddy brush at the cat wash without any care.

My wife's 2021 4Runner is the first car past 2008 we've ever owned. The paint is super soft. The thing is riddled with paint chips. The door jamb where my dogs get in and out is scratched up from their nails. Its extremely fragile.

My 10 day old Tacoma has more rock chips on it than my thirteen year old Ranger.

I feel like my old accord was a tank compared to my Tacoma, but I know it wouldn't handle the trails I ride with my Tacoma. It sucks that the paint has become so crappy, but I did buy it to run trails and camp out of so I guess it comes with the adventures. Its like the more I try to take care of it the more life craps on on it lol.

Yeah not talking shit on anyone here but there’s been a bunch of 3rd gen paint complaints on the forums lately. Some of them are valid. The paint does suck on these things. But at the same time you bought a Toyota not a Ferrari. They aren’t known for their amazing paint jobs. They are known for reliability and longevity. Hopefully the engine and trans will run problem free until your frame rusts in half. Those tiny blemishes don’t look like a cancer that is gonna spread. And within a year there will be other blemishes and chips. Not discounting your concern but at least your paint isn’t flaking off. I think whatever that is, is probably sealed underneath the ceramic, hence why you’re struggling to remove it. Anyways hope you find a remedy but if not I don’t think anyone besides you will notice.

Time to get rid of it before the rest of the truck falls apart.

I'd just keep an eye on it, I really can't tell if it's just paint contaminate under the clear or not of it feels smooth. I don't think it's rust or anything....maybe when the paint protection starts to wear hit it with some iron remover/ironx and give it a light buff....clay bars don't always get rid of everything and of it is on the surface sometimes you need some chemical intervention.

After reading a ton as weird as it sounds I believe it is a chemical reaction from the tire shine mixing with new tire molding agent- good and bad news I have read people say they fade in a few weeks/months others say they are permanent and you’ll need a respray to fix it. one guy on this forum got a brand new truck because of it. It is very strange this is the first I’ve heard of it but apparently it happens to all makes and models of cars luck with draw I don’t know strangw,
