Someone local is selling a CVT Mt Hood for $950.... y’all think that’s a good deal? He says it’s been used 10 times at most. It measures 72” X 48” closed. That’s a big ole tent for the short bed...

Bachelor is a better fit for you, your situation and your truck. They are 1150 new, and with discounts can get them cheaper than that. I'd say hold out. Hood is 4 person tent.

Yeah it would either overhang a foot off the back of the truck, or id have to raise the bed rack to let the tent overlap the roof.

If I had your money, I’d get an FSR, but it would still overhang your bed. Short bed problems :rofl:DCLBFTMFW

Is yours an FSR? I wouldn't be opposed to raising the bed rack to roof level if it was for a low profile tent like yours

It seems like every time I try to check out the rest of this forum I come across threads about technical issues that get blamed on TMC or specific dealerships that just blow me away. As a technical rep for another manufacturer it can be really hard to read the misinformation people are putting out there unknowingly or not. It’s a great motivator for just sticking to this thread!

    Sorry for the rant!

This is probably the most gracious, level-headed rant ever. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

Even the classifieds are hard to deal with, posts from 2011 where people are asking " is this still available?" . Also, every post is in California, local pick up only. Do the mods ever go in there and delete stuff?

I do like the camping threads though

Hardly a rant at all by TW standards. I have about 5 threads I stay inside here. I don’t even go to the home page, my bookmark is straight to my “watched threads” page

    Yeah.
I've been on this forum since 2009, and I have to say it has gotten a bit stupider over the years. Here's how I see it:

2nd Gen forums are the most level-headed now -- it used to be 1st Gen, but the baton was passed soon after the 3rd gen came out. Now the 1st Gen forums are filled with young gentlemen that purchased a SEP vehicle (that's Somebody Else's Problem, for those that don't know that 42 is the answer to The Ultimate Question). They are honestly trying to get/keep the things running, but they are presented with a more complex problem than some of us older gents were at their age. Many of them don't know when or can't afford to get professional help, but at least they are trying. For that (and the fact that they have a 1st gen), they get my help and respect.

Then we have the other end of the spectrum in the 3rd Gen area. Lots of entitled jackassery going on. Stay out of there.

But some of those kids in the 1st gen forum could use your help at times, @Dave_M . Just gotta bow out when they won't listen. I was in a thread for a month where I told them they probably had leaky injectors before they finally realized they had leaky injectors.
