I may be drooling a little. I've wanted a commuter bike for a long time but every time I get myself talked into one someone I know gets hurt one one. Then every time I talk myself out of one something new comes out that I really like.

A guy I went to college with was going down Cantrell Hill in LR at 70 mph. He got to the bottom and a car pulled off of Alsopp Park Rd. He laid the bike over, bike slid into the car, he slid into the bike. He broke his femur and while he was at the hospital getting his leg checked out they noticed something odd on his x-ray. Turns out he had testicular cancer. Caught it early and made a full recovery. Like most younger guys he rarely went to the doctor and told me there's no way he would have caught it if it hadn't been for the accident.

When I was going to school in LR in the early 90s, I sold my bike because I wasn't a good enough rider to stay alive. I'd never taken a safety course and only really knew what I'd taught myself, which wasn't much. I'm a much better rider now and always think safety. I make sure my kids ride that way as well. My son and daughter both ride.

Yeah, wish I had your plane though. There's a fly in at Byrds I'm trying to get to this weekend. The Bentonville club just bought another Husky and now has two 182s, plus Summit just put an offer in on a Legend super cub. I'm starting to have lots of options here without owning.

Pretty exciting for our little world here in Searcy.

Yes, and while I'm skeptical of the long-term impact, hopefully it will generate more interest in Searcy - some growth would be good.

Yes, I'm thinking of driving if I can't find a ride down. I guess they have a lot of trails there for ATVs, mnt. bikes, etc. I used to live in Ozark many years ago but don't remember that much about the area. I do remember my first flight around 5yrs old in a family friends 172 happening there though.

Used to live in Ozark? I have ex in-laws that still live there. Turners, same Turners that settled Turner's Bend on the Pig Trail. I hated divorcing my wife cuz I knew I'd miss her old man...

My Dad coached football there mid 70s-early 80s. About all I remember was getting to eat out once a month at the Pizza Hut when the parents got paid and growing up in the neighborhood where we lived. A church bought our house and moved it so they could use the lot as a parking lot, so it's no longer there.

Hello all. I'll be moving to Camden, AR in a couple of months for a new job. Just thought I would say hello and see how active the area is. I'm rolling around in an '08 Prerunner built up pretty good. Build link is at the top of my signature if anyone cares.

Nice rig Jeremy, you should be easy to spot. We spend most of our time upstate in the Ouachitas ("washita") and the Ozarks. 1000s of miles to explore. Hit us up when get settled in...

    Thanks for the welcome, fellas.

Do you all do mostly off-roading meets? Do you do much in the way of mod days or getting together for food/drinks and just hanging out?

We all live pretty far apart, and a few us get together semi-regularly to do trail runs and camp outs. The no fun parts of life tends to dictate when the fun parts are allowed to happen. @Dave_M is in the process if a rebuild and honeymoon planning and lives in LR, Pete has a shop here in LR about 30 mins from me, but the rest of are spread out across the 4 corners of the state. Makes it tuff to make it a regular thing, and typically we fly through a weekend outing and squeeze in as much as we can. Are you moving to work in one of the Highland Park companies?
