    Thanks for the info. I should be good with the tint I'm running. My truck is 20% (NM limit), and my car is 50%/35% (VA limit). The truck needs redone (starting to peel), but I haven't bothered getting it taken care of yet.

    Thanks. That sounds pretty standard for most places I've lived. I guess it will be a fun game of figuring out how fast I can drive and where. :burnrubber:

    Seems like you'll be cruising on a deserted stretch of highway in the middle of nowhere and the only car you see will be a trooper. They always pop up in the most random places.

    @Doc's Rig @natural_nativ

    Thanks for the info. You guys snuck in while I was typing my last reply. I'd calmed down the speeding a lot before I moved to VA. It helped that the interstate in NM is 75 mph, so I'd just cruise at 80-ish.

    I try to limit my speed to 0-5 over in towns.

    :rofl: Ain't that the truth.

    I think the tint law in Arkansas is like 25%; I'm sure Doc could speak better to that. But 20% isn't unreasonable either; there's farmers and frat boys in Jonesboro running 35% on the windshield and 3% everywhere else, soooooo....you're probably fine, comparatively speaking

    I'm not 100% sure, but I believe @CRASHMAN50 is correct - 25% and I believe the rear is something like 10%. If you are worried, make an eye appt. and get a medical letter for photophobia and stick it in your glovebox. If you get pulled over, pull the letter out. My wife has illegal tint on her Highlander and I have a letter in her car just in case...but never needed it.

    Looks like it is indeed 25% on the side windows. Having said that, I've had 5% on the side windows of 3 of my last 4 vehicles and only had one issue with it. That was a trooper that initially pulled me over for a broken brake light. When he realized the brake light was actually working he started hunting for something to cite me for. Peeled the tint off the front two windows, took it to the courthouse to let them see it, and had it re-tinted all within two days of the citation.

    They don’t even name anything under 20,000’ there! Everything under that, they refer to as JAMIB - “Just Another Mountain In Bhutan”

    Ditto all the above - Interstates no more than 10mph+, divided rural highways no more than 5+, small towns best to stay -5 and enjoy the local scenery. In south AR there's alot of small, narrow 2 lanes with lots of big logging trucks....don't hit the ditch unless you have to, lots of snakes and gators this time of year.....

    Safe Travels

    Nah. I had a detector in the past. All it ever told me was that I was screwed. Never saved me from a ticket.
