Funny (but long) story about goats that I thought warranted a separate post from my one above. When we first bought our property I mentioned to a friend that the back acre that is wooded has some pretty thick underbrush and I'd like to clean it out. He says "oh man, you need a goat. You'd need to fence it in but I have a goat that I'd just give you." I told him I appreciated it but I hadn't planned on fencing that area in and that clearing it out is pretty low on my priority list.

A few weeks later we're hanging out with some mutual friends and I hear him complaining about his mother-in-law giving their 5 y/o son a goat and the goat is a complete asshole. He was telling this guy how it bullied all their other animals, had charged him and his wife multiple times, and got out of the fence and caused damage to their house.

I asked "is that the goat you offered to give me?" "Yeah man... to be honest I figured you'd shoot it the first time it charged you." Probably wouldn't have happened the first time but if we didn't reach an understanding after the first couple of times that might have been the outcome.

The camping options are numerous in that area, but if you're floating out of BOC, I'd recommend one of the campgrounds on the river where ever you take out. Buffalo will be crowded and busy that weekend for sure. Depending on your schedule and time frame, there is dispersed camping all over the Jasper area in the Nat'l Forest.

My father is trading in his '18 Taco for a '19 Tundra this afternoon. I snagged his bed mat, Meso Custom Gasshole, Meso Custom Extended Fuse Cover, and ShiftSense Pro V2. If any interest, send me a PM. I can send pics, if desired.

    Parts fit 3rd gen ('16-'19):

OEM Toyota Bed Mat (short bed) - $65
    Meso Custom Gasshole - $15
Meso Custom Extended Fuse Cover - $14
    ShiftSense Pro V2 - $125

Not currently. We lost a few hives this past year so we bought several more and are trying to build them back up.

Do you know what you lost them to?

My dad had 4 hives when he lived in TN. When he moved back to AR he gave them to someone in exchange for empty supers and drawn out frames to take bring back here. He bought two packages from Bemis a couple of years ago and set them up at his place. They looked like they were off to a good start but one got raided by hornets and the other died off not long after that. He thinks the second one died off because there wasn't enough food in the rocky area around his house so he moved these native bees to our place. I don't know if he plans to get more for the other hive or wait until these are ready to split.

I’ll have tons more to share once I get home and go through them. All you’re seeing now are probably the ones my mom and my aunt are tagging me in, haha. I’ve only posted a couple but there are many more to come!

Today we off-roaded the 69 horsepower Fiat Panda. Had it teetering on two wheels and freaked my mom out a little, so that was fun. Made it up to some absolutely spectacular views. One of the hills we were going up was so steep that the car couldn’t make it without backing up and hitting it with more speed. This is by far the slowest car I’ve ever driven, it’s hilarious.

Steel Creek and Kyles are both nice and right between Jasper and Ponca. Kyles is a little more rustic. Erbie on the north side of the river is tough to get to from the west and is kinda rustic. All beautiful areas though and they WILL be packed for the holiday. Anywhere you go, I would plan on making reservations.

At BOC, get with Jeremy or the owner Mike and do the ziplines. I inspect the course annually so I know they're safe.......kinda.

Horseshoe Canyon is a cool place with lots to do, but again call first. https://horseshoecanyonduderanch.com/

Perfect thank you! I figured that all of campsites would be busy especially if we are arriving on the 5th. My wife and sister-in-law are playing ignorant.

Same for us up in Maumelle. Power came on about 5am. We used the Goal Zero pack to keep a fan going all night.

And that map only shows Entergy outages. Talked to a buddy at First Electric and they are out all the way to Hot Springs Village...

Power is out at our main facility in NLR too, so I'm working from home to the hum of the generator....No estimated times yet, so maybe a stay at home kinda day. I'll have to venture for fuel if its not on by noon or so. The new substation on Lawson must've taken a pretty good hit. They clocked winds at almost 70 mph in Avilla, 3 miles from me. I sit behind a small mountain (hill) so I'm blocked from storm winds from the SW, but have limbs down all over my property. Chewy was hiking his leg on everyone of them, so he's happy with the situation.

    Yeah.
Dang, all that missed us up here, but we had quite the lightning show early yesterday morning and at least 2 inches of rain in a couple of hours.

I stayed at Kyles landing last year. It was nice for a dedicated camp area. "Long" dirt road down to the campsite.

Anyone ride motorcycles here? Need to get down there and hit the twisties this summer.

You might be in luck, since no fireworks are allowed in the park it does limit the number of people that go somewhat.
