My strawberry fried pie lasted me 3 servings....damn boy can eat!

Poteau River at Cauthron, AR recorded a 10 foot increase in water levels in only a few hours this morning, and ARCC is reporting Ozark is flooding. I hadnt gotten any notifications on rescues, but possible tornado S of Paris and more flooding in Yell County.

Y'all keep that shit up there. They finally got my power restored last night, so I came home this morning.

Cleaned out the refrigerator and planning to hit the store when it reaches temperature.

Yeah. Weather Underground says thunderstorms at 1730 and 2" of rain. Just gun shy after Wednesday's storm and the ensuing aftermath.

*** Call for Attendance (Camden, AR) ***

TacomaWorld, meet Oakley Nimmo. He passed away on Thursday, 20 June 2019, at the age of 5 years old after battling cancer for over 3 years. He often talked about becoming an "Army Man" and spent his time, when he felt good, dressing up in his uniform and playing with his toy army guns.

The family is asking for any military service men and women (past or present) to attend his funeral in their dress uniform. If you can attend please help pay tribute to his memory and his wish of one day becoming an "Army Man".

The service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, 25 June 2019, at Cullendale First Baptist Church (1850 Cash Road SW, Camden, AR 71701) with the burial afterwards at Furr Cemetery in Locust Bayou, AR.

Was attending the AR Search and Rescue Conference in Russellville this weekend. This morning we woke up to severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings. At the Conference calls came in to the Frankllin County OEM (Fred), and patched through to classroom speakers. We got to hear, discuss and analyze the call outs / response as Byrd's was flooding, evacuated and rescues activated. Interesting morning.....

Funny...not funny.....we were talking about updating the acronym from SAR (search and rescue) the DRT (Darwin Recovery Team)

    Yeah.
Thanks for sharing, hoping for a good turnout. We have a little girl in our neighborhood going through the fight, so tough when it's the little ones.

It’s interesting to see the change in situational awareness in the population over the years. It appears that as years go by more and more people rely on outside help rather than taking action on their own behalf.

They're not even thinking things can go wrong, that's the problem....thus the Darwin Factor. Let me take a selfie 1 foot from the edge of a 100 ft. drop.....WOW, that water is fast, let's go for a swim without a PFD.....I'm gonna hike 60 miles of the OTT by myself with 3 bottles of water and prove I'm a man...Let's camp on this gravel bar knowing there might be some thunderstorms coming.....thus the Darwin Recovery Team call outs.

You hear these news bites all the time, but when you hear the details from the SAR responders.............yup, Darwin is hard at work in their words. And it puts others at risk....

Been rolling through down here for a bit. Not too bad...just rain. Found out that I've got a leak in the roof into the office/spare room. I didn't have a leak on Wednesday, so I'm guessing that one of the branches that fell did it.

While all of y’all at home in Arkansas in the rain, I’m staying dry on an island.CD85579A-EA3C-44E9-8EA8-0E3553AA1114.jpg

Oh and also dad decided to take the family “off-roading” to get to a very secluded beach in a Honda Fit, definitely trading in the taco when I get home.

Ole Fred Mullen, he's quite a character. I get to chat with him pretty often. He's one of a few that takes his county seriously. Interesting stuff! Welcome to my world!

Just posted if anyone is in the area and doesn't mind helping out a Ford driver.

It sounds like he's in a bit of a predicament. I would love an excuse to be out in that area right now but that whole work thing just keeps getting in the way of being in the woods.
