Same x2, the pros are noisy, but sure are nice to have when needed. I went with them mainly for Cooper's sidewall technology. Too many Goodyear failures, but the BFGs always did me well. I have the Duratracs on my Land Cruiser but only cuz a practically brand new set of 5 was on it when I bought it.

Has anyone in here replaced a clutch before? My clutch master is leaking, so I'm planning to replace it and the slave. I'm thinking that I should probably go ahead and do the clutch too while I'm at it. It has 120k+ miles on it and feels like shit. Maybe the leaking master has a lot to do with it, but it engages super high in the release and doesn't feel like it really grabs well anymore. I know I've smoked it a few times offroad trying to slip it and get moving instead of spinning. I was also hoping someone had access to a lift and transmission jack instead of having to do it laying on the ground under the truck.

I’ve done a bunch on lifts and on the ground, but never on a gen 2. Sometimes the lift is more hassle than it’s worth, but if the bell housing is stuck on the dowels, having it on a secure lift is definitely the way to go. I’d do the leaking master first and see how it feels since there won’t be that much overlap of work anyway.

It's very possible that it's stuck after spending a couple winters on the east coast. VA and MD go crazy with the salt at the very thought of freezing temps and precipitation. I've been spoiled with access to lifts on base at my last job and at my landlords shop back in NM.

I've got the master and slave already. I just haven't got around to installing them yet.

    Yeah.
If the hydraulics are shot, you have to do that anyway. Usually easier than brakes. Start there and see how it feels. If you need to do the actual clutch, it helps to have the right tools and some extra hands.

Finally running. It’s so much more smooth with the relatively fresh JDM motor than the tired old power plant!

    Yeah.
I miss my 1st gen. Saw a black one like yours for sale at a farm off of 23, just south of Brashears. I resisted the urge to stop.

Get you a roll of quarters and show that engine compartment some love down at the car wash now. :D

If he washes it, he'll have to change his TW tag from 'dirty and dented' to just 'dented'

Can’t have that! I’m not worried about a dirty engine compartment. It makes it easier to find leaks if there’s a bit of dust on everything anyway! I do wash under the truck after every outing, but there’s no point in worrying about the rest.

This. Having done my clutch twice within two months due to a leaking rear main, it's a huge pain. I'd avoid doing it if there's another thing that may be causing the problem.

    Thanks,

This is extremely off topic, but oh well here goes. My second year of college (2009 - 2010), there was a rap group out of Little Rock that had a top hit for the summer or fall or whatever that made some big waves. I can remember the lyrics including something about "rags to riches". I've been trying to find that song forever now for nostalgic purposes and have come up empty. Does anybody remember this song? I remember vaguely that the music video was them on a bridge. It kind of had a Jamaican/Reggae vibe for the chorus.

It wasn't Magnuss was it? Went to college with him and everyone was convinced he was about to blow up but he had a kid and dropped rapping immediately to take care of his family.

Some friends formed a new group, Natural State Yotas. Figured y'all would want to know.

    Facebook:
    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/naturalstateyotas/

Going to do a big meet & greet in Rogers on August 24: Looks like a short trail run is forming for after the meet. Lots of giveaways being lined up from GAIA, Icon, and Express Rally. Really trying to start this off with a bang. I'm good friends with the main organizer and he is known for putting on a good event.

Hope to see some of y'all out there.
