I heard the after tremors or whatever they are called. I would have slept through it all if my wife hadn't woken me up freaking out.

Where are the best places to camp in Arkansas where I can get my Tacoma offroad but not any super technical trails?

    Yeah.
The Ozarks and Ouachitas are full of forest roads, most are very well-maintained. Getting off the main ones can lead you to some good camping spots, and none of the marked roads are really technical.

The Forestry Service website has lots of info as far as campgrounds and scenic loops. Should be a good starting point for you. You’re not too terribly far from some beautiful country, the Southwest/Central Western part of the state is awesome.

Oh nice! I lived up there and worked for ABF Freight for a few years. I really like Fort Smith. I’m hoping to check a few areas out this fall that I haven’t seen before in the Ouachitas. Lots to see, just not enough time to see it all!

Nice, I'm also in Ft Smith and just graduated from UARK. Check out White Rock Mountain, Devil's Canyon (after a rain) and Shore Lake. All about 45 minutes away from the Fort but very worth the drive.

In the Quachitas are beautiful as well, I grew up around that area.

the north side of the lake is much more remote than the south shore. Plenty of places to camp, Lena Landing and Rabbit Tail are a couple of the top of my head. Interested in the river above the lake? It’s very scenic and get little traffic. Rocky Shoals has a campsite area. This is a Forest Service map of the upper Ouachita River. This area is also very remote, so plan on packing in everything you need. several campsites listed.

there are a bunch listed at the site. Iron Fork is a good one, it’s by a boat ramp so will get more traffic. Also campsites at Avant, Buckville, Cedar Fourche and several others.

For any kayakers, consider the dragover area on the upper Ouachita river. You can launch at Dragover, float a three mile section of the river, and end up 1/4 mile from where you started. A 4x4 is usually needed to access the take out, most just walk and drag their kayaks back.

Definitely bring fishing tackle anywhere along the river.

This time of year with the water low, you should make it. Steady progress without throwing water up into the engine compartment. Have you done the rear diff breather relocate? If not, that would be the biggest concern.

Ok thanks. Yeah I've relocated it up behind my tail light. Is there any other crossings along that way heading to Richland campground that would be of any concern?

You must be running a portion of the High Water Mark? And to answer your question, typically no, but the crossing at Eula will be difficult if water on the Buffalo is also high. Plan time to explore stack rock area if at all possible. That is a super scenic area, house sized boulders around a tall, vertical, sandstone oxbow feature with a high concentration of black bear. Very interesting history, and is even an old grave marker at the top from 1800's, I believe she was 8 when she died.
