    https://mapper.acme.com/?ll=34.61227,-93.33976&z=16&t=M&marker0=35.86800,-

It IS a camping spot. But no facilities what so ever.

The campsites are fairly normal. But the place is so remote that you might be the only people there. The park itself is on dirt (no paved roads). And there are some 4WD trails to explore in the area also. Some lead to remote inlets on the lake. It's a very interesting site. It's just so far away from everything.

The more remote the better! Sounds like a good find. @PinnaclePete wish I could join you for a reconnoiter, but I'll be cutting wood tomorrow. Had that planned for last weekend, but I got into a yellow jacket nest while I was bucking and spent the weekend doped up on benadryl and broken out in hives. Gonna try and avoid the lil boogers this weekend and get caught up. Hopefully next weekend the weather will be awesome and we can get out.

Anyone else ever look at a coworker and try to figure out how they managed to survive as long as they have with so few brain cells?

I mean, I've looked at myself and thought it too but some cases are more severe than others.

    Yeah.
Dang, that sucks! I'm just covered in chigger bites AGAIN. All I did is lop off some sycamore shoots from a stump at the edge of my yard. Didn't think I was even close to the danger zone. The chiggers must have been up on the leaves because they got me from my head down instead of ankles up. Crazy. I hate chiggers.

Oh, and I need to check under my daughter's car for a squirrel nest. My dog has been very interested in something under there, and I keep startling a squirrel out from under there in the mornings.

LOL, yep. Mostly at myself, but there are some folks out there with really good guardian angels. I have no complaints about mine.

Squirrels can wreck havoc on an engine's wiring harness. That's definitely something you don't want to have to deal with!

What month is AR personal property tax due? Is it county dependent?

I believe it is Oct. 15th statewide. But, Arkansas is weird in that you don't pay until after a full year or something like that. Go get assessed, and they'll let you know.

I feel like I bought my truck in Aug. or Sept. but didn't pay property tax on it until the next year's Oct. I should probably know that as an accountant, but alas....:pccoffee:

Quarterly, but may vary by County.....they won't let you forget.

    * We pay business quarterly, personal may only be annually.

Real estate and personal are both due annually, but you can pay on schedule. You should get a notice in the mail for real estate with a lil payment booklet. Pretty sure deadline is Oct 15th for both, or just do like I do and pay personal property when you get your tags every year and let escrow worry about real estate. I'm sure I've given them a lot in late fees, so on second thought, don't do what I do.

    Yeah.
Yeah, personal is annually, but 1 year in arrears. You won't owe anything your first year here.

I just got the notice that they have adjusted their valuation tables and all my stuff went up in value.

She drives it a few times a week, so it would be odd for it to have a nest, but who knows. I looked around the engine compartment and didn't see anything, but need to check the transmission/driveshaft tunnel underneath.

I had to get the car and truck assessed when I registered them.

I'm being forced to pay property tax and HOI through escrow because I'm not putting 20% down on the house I'm buying.

I got a notice of value change too. I don't remember if it went up or down, and I'm not sure where it is, assuming I even kept it.

Checked out the Iron Forks / Buckville / Cedar Fourche areas on the north side of Lake Ouachita Saturday. All accessible sites are COE property and vaguely developed...bathrooms, picnic tables, decent parking/camp sites. Near the boat ramps is some more dispersed with fire rings. Lots of water front locations if there was any water. The Lake was down 6-8 ft. for the winter and you could actually walk to the closer islands. On a side trail from Buckville you can drive right down onto level lakebed along the shore.

Got "pulled over" by AR G&F on my way along USFS 11 (he wanted to check out my truck). Turns out Officer J. Whiley is on TW but not very much. He has a '13 DCSB Sport, so we talked trucks and trails for a good while. He gave me some great trail ideas to check out, but didn't have time since I was heading for the Lake.

So the Lake camping appears to be a destination after running trails in that part of the Ouachitas, until more reconnoitering is done...

I hope everyone up in NWA and the Upper Buffalo River areas are OK? The Scroll on the TV says 10 inches of rain in some places.
