I live in the Ozarks my girl and I explore it almost any weekend I'm off for the last year. Miles of class 1 dirt/rock roads with tons of 4 wheeler trails little tight on truck...and camping everywhere. Killer scenery lots of wildlife.

There's some cool stuff in the Ozarks. I ran into a couple river crossings that were a little terrifying. Just check them out on foot before you drive in.

My wife and I are planning on taking some time and checking out waterfalls and lakes and other scenic areas this summer as soon as school is over. Ice for a book of the best places to visit on Arkansas and we're gonna start checking them off

Plan on being out of Little Rock by 1pm Friday. Should get there by 5ish for check in and a quick look around before dinner. Gonna call tonight and find a place to stay. My 17 yo son is too cool to camp out.

Do you have a list of three or four favorite routes? I'd like to go visit family out of state for Memorial Day but exploring the Ozarks FS roads is our backup.

Better delete your Texas plates, don't wanna be a target up there, fall can be pretty crazy. And bring your kayak.

Eh. Probably not going to switch to Arkansas registration. Everything for the truck is paid from TX and associated with my home address here. I really want to bring my kayak, but I don't think it'll fit in the closet of the dorm :D

Man that's a tough one a map and a highlighter would make it simple. I would definitely pick up a map for the Ozark National Forest area there is a office in Russellville have been really glad to have it several times. When you get one you'll see tons of trails a normal map wont show. Beware road signs/numbers don't always match. I always pack as if we are gonna spend the night it gets remote fast. Pilot Rock area can keep you busy for a day no problem. If you want more when you come out on 123 follow it north and loop back to 7 trails/fs roads on both sides. I've worked that area when possible for the last year and have yet to go down all of them.[/QUOTE]
