Lots of AT&T customers without service nationwide, apparently. Should be on my election year bingo card, but it show how much we rely on the cell networks a lot. Being interested in running jon boats in the backwaters and being out in the forest had me looking into garmin's inreach devices just the other day, funny enough.

    Yeah.
It's been quite a while, but I've only been to Blanchard Springs for the Syllamo's Revenge MTB race, and that was when I lived in the St Louis area. I didn't really explore the back roads in the area, but it's a beautiful area. I think @CRASHMAN50 is closer to that area, but it looks like there's lots of roads running through there. Being further from larger metros, there might be some decent dispersed options out there. Last time I was there, most of the sites at Blanchard were closed due to flash flooding damage, but that was a long time ago.

I'd love to join for a ride, but I am 30 lbs heavier than my "in shape" riding weight. I need to get back on the bike and get some solo miles in. Let me know if you have any questions about the trails in the Bentonville area.

I don't know why I read that as Mountain Home initially, even though I know that Syllamo isn't at Mountain Home. :homer:

You can go North out of Allison and take the second left onto Green Mountain Road and climb the hill. Just a little ways up, I took a right and camped at the trailhead on 91045B. Nothing fancy, but there's several good little spots to camp up there. Most all of those main roads to the NW of Allison should be fine. One of those roads to one of the food plots is stoooooopid steep, but I can't remember which one it is. Pegged the angle meter in my taco, iirc.

I need to go back and explore the more westerly section sometime.

Awesome, thanks! I was scouring google earth last night in that area. So it's good to have some first hand knowledge over there. I assume it's a little more tight w/ overall landscape of the area....but pretty much the same deal as out west....if there's a fire ring built out of rocks or sticks, or cleared out open area, it's fair game? I'll shoot you a pm too as we get closer if thats cool.

@TenBeers you need to cut it down to EightBeers, then you'll be back in riding shape in no time lol. But for real, if you wanna get out and ride a little, just lmk. I just enjoy being out there. No problem waiting at trailheads/intersections if it comes down to it.

Some co-workers camped off of Spring Creek Road close to Almus Knob N of Big Flat a couple weeks ago. Said there were some awesome overlooks above the Buffalo River on short hikes from the road. Rand Road makes a nice loop there, they said. Check out Gunner's Pool if you have time. Great swimming hole and rec area with cool features but can get crowded on weekends.

@TenBeers and @E.J. are great MTB trail encyclopedias for NWA!

Yeah dude, there's fire rings that are for-sure spots. The only thing that might be off-limits that would look like a good spot would be the food plot areas during deer season, I think:
    upload_2024-2-22_13-42-1.png

Anything with fire rings should be appropriate dispersed camping:

Those pics are from February; so, it's not very grown up or anything. I went back and looked, and it was 25 degrees that night....just a bit chilly

    Yeah.
@Chris(NJ) just keep an eye out for any tracks leading off into the woods from the main road. Not all sites are obvious and right on the main roads, and some of the best ones are off the road a bit. If there's a relatively worn trail, it likely leads to a good spot, but you'll drive right past them and not see them if you aren't looking for them. A bit scratchy to get into sometimes, but usually worth it.

Looks like I may not need dispersed up by Allison. A campsite in Russellville opened up so I jumped on it. $26/night and less than 10 miles from dead center of the path.

Well we did it in the commuter car (hard to beat the gas mileage), not a Tacoma or 4Runner, but we hit Glory Hole Falls today. Perfect weather for it.

Toyota Trucks of Arkansas and Razorback LandCruiser lovers alike,

We are going to be rekindling the Razorback LandCruiser club, which the first step in doing so- will be officially restarting the monthly meetings!

The first meeting of many will be held on March 19th, 7 pm at a PRIVATE RESIDENCE in Cave City AR

YOU MUST RSVP TO GET DIRECTIONS TO THIS PRIVATE EVENT

By doing this, we invite official members, as well as those who have considered becoming members to join us for a meal, meeting, and of course to enjoy our rigs.

The meeting space we have arranged for this first version is smaller, and will only have space for up to 40 people at this time, so we do ask that you reserve a space ahead of time, so we can keep true to the host guidelines, if needed due to high interest we will be able to secure a different venue for the meeting!

If you aren't aware, TCLA chapters are independent and autonomous organizations that are run democratically, following parliamentary procedures.
What this means is, that everyone has a voice in the direction it runs and that all are heard.

By doing so, we can help select which causes to support, and grow in the hobby, and have a very cool network of people who also share your love of Toyotas, nature, and adventure.
The Razorback LandCruiser chapter was founded in 1999, and has a long history of supporting nonprofits in our area, and are the creators of our star event- the Razorback Ramble!

Look forward to hearing from those who are interested in joining us! RSVP in this thread.

    Yeah.
Uninsured motorist coverage FTW. Sucks to have your camping plans ruined, though. At least the truck is still usable!
