Damn. That sucks but it doesn’t look like it did any real damage? It’ll buff out? Not exactly a badge of honor, tho.

 

The bumper is bent about 2" inward on the driver's side and the top is buckled, quarter panel is boned, hood is overlapping the driver side fender. It's going to take a hell of a buffer to straighten out. Wish I got a good pic of the damage to the Cadillac before they peaced out, their rear passenger door and quaterpannel were super messed up. Fortunately it happened at the Shell station and they were more than happy to show me the tape. I'd take the blame but that lady was coming in hot.

 

Yea def won’t buff out. Leaving scene of an accident is automatic at fault in Arkansas, I believe. Time to show the tape to the police.

 

The cop wasn't too interested to see the tape, but Allstate is. Wondering how the will handle the bumper, worse case I guess they'd put it back to stock. Pretty sure I'll replace it with an ARB, or maybe twin with TenBeers and buy local from Backwoods.

Looks like the bumper did a good job, but alas... Stopping a 2 ton Cadillac is gonna hurt.

I loved the design of this one, unfortunately I got it through their annual black Friday sale and were really cranking them out. Mine showed up with one of the hoops welded crooked (even more so now) and it wasn't obvious until it was mounted on the truck. They took care of me with a credit to cover a skid plate, but that misaligned hoop as been haunting me for years now lol.

 

Now you're making me want to go outside and look at mine because every piece of RCI armor I've got was bought on some kind of holiday sale lol

 

Well those guys were a pleasure to deal with, wasn't expecting to get showered in swag.

The guy at the body shop said the old one needs to be removed or replaced before they do the work because it's pushing into the fender. Waiting to see if/how much insurance will cover the old one. It is what it is.

 

Ah man, I didn't get a hat! Yeah, they are cool guys. My rear bumper came with 2 right brackets, and they fixed me up quickly and thanked me for helping them find a problem with their design -- apparently the bracket pieces could be welded together backwards, and they had to go through all their stock and check. They updated the design of the pieces with notches so the welders couldn't assemble them backwards.

 

Goodish news, my insurance covers $1k for aftermarket accessories. I was prepared to just eat it, this takes a little bit of the sting out.

 

So what's gonna happen to the RCI bumper?

 

I'm not sure. Will have to see if the body shop will/can give it back.

 

We had a good ride through the Ouachita Mountains yesterday.

is there a max number for the Rumble?

Went to HSORV this past week for the first time (been here nearly 4 years) and it was a nicely put together park. I drove out to it just to check it out about 2-3 years ago and it has grown substantially since then! Good for them! Interested in going back with a group.

 

Got it back from the bodyshop, pretty happy with the new bumper, will kind of miss having hoops but OTOH the hoops on the old bumper just multiplied the damage. Heck yeah my front end plastics were repainted and actually match the body now. Wasn't able to get the old bumper back unfortunately.
