Any MLB fans here???

Dont look now but the Dodgers are making a run..

 

The entire west has been taking turns running (to the toilet). Last week the Giants went 5-1 on the home stand after a 2-6 road trip. Nobody's been consistent. At least we're starting to get the roster back. MadBum, Panik, Melancin, Pence all back now and Pablo is bringing it. Crawford is doing great, however, Belt just had an appendectomy so he's out for 2-3 weeks.

 

Giants are a fun team to watch lately. So awesome seeing Pablo being competitive especially in SF where the fans love him. He is a far cry from what he was when you guys won your last couple WS, but something about a fat guy being competitive in todays game that is just fun to watch (Bartolo). Also for as ugly as Hunter Pence does EVERYTHING he sure is good

Personally I am a Cubs fan, but I think the Dodgers are getting ready to turn things around and make a run. I wonder what there current odds are for winning the West/NL. Hard to believe the Dbacks can be in 1st place right now with as bad as they've played the last couple weeks, the West is definitely up for grabs.

 

Did you see the Cubs come from behind victory yesterday?

 

Previously worked in MiLB/Spring Training and avid Yankees fan here..they're not doing too bad halfway thru the season

This sounds awesome! What did you do? How did you get hooked up with that?

 

Had an internship for group sales at the ST stadium for marlins/cardinals then worked during their minor league teams there as well. Little off days and long hours but well worth it

 

ALL STAR GAME..........

I know this game doesn't always have who should be there and maybe I am biased as a Braves fan but how the heck do you start a guy that just crossed the mendoza line last week. I know he's 'the Bryce Harper' and normally an excellent hitter but I think this proves that this is a popularity contest and that is it.

Thoughts?

 

Despite being a KC and Salvy fan, I'd back that up with Salvy from KC is going again [just as our designated all star] even though he clearly doesn't deserve it this year. Despite KC sucking badly, they do have a couple of players having great years that got no consideration . . . that they will likely lose in the up coming tread deadline but oh well.

Given all the powerhouses in the AL, who do you NL fans see being able to even compete? Man, we just played Boston and got absolutely killed, Yankees are right there with them, Houston and even Seattle in the west, and Cleveland is starting to finally play ball up to their level of talent again.

 

If you make it to october anyone can win. Who gets hot, who pitches well, who gets lucky, overall stats mean less in baseball than any of the major sports.

You need to get pretty lucky to beat Verlander and Cole twice in a 7 game series Wouldnt be surprised to see HOU make a couple moves for some bullpen help soon too.

 

Hate to say it... but I am actually okay with this. Not big on the Harper train by any means but I think he has shown he is an All Star every year in the past, he still has 20 or some bombs and it is just his average that does not look good, nowadays nobody cares about average unfortunately. Also, the game is in DC so I think that plays a big role.

 

I dont think thats true, in reality you have to beat both just once depending on the rotation going into said series...plus verlander is generally average in WS games

 

That is true. Still a tough rotation to navigate through and the lineup isn't much easier for opposing pitching. It will be interesting to see what players get shaken up with the trade deadline. I think Merrifield could be a big contributor to a lot of teams fighting for contention.

 

Agreed, theres a lot of bullpen arms out there, not so much starting pitching wise....someone will hit the jackpot with machado

But at what cost is the real question, could be a expensive rental
