i was all over that record breaker, thank goodness it was the Royals that stopped that madness but not TOO soon as to have a tie

 

In the 70+ years since it happen only one player has reached 40+ games. With the way the game has changed with launch angles and power pitching. I think it’s safe

 

i was referring to the Indians consecutive game streak in the modern era cubs now are 2nd fiddle, and then Yankees choked the Indians

 

Oh thought you were talking about Joe Dimaggio hit game streak record.

 

i was initially but then turned around to say that long time Cubs fans had the winning streak for 80yrs (in modern era) that stood since 1935 but no more

 

Yea that Indians run was amazing.

 

the week before that streak started I was in KC at the game the Royals actually beat the Indians lol, Indians were winning the game before the 3rd inning usually ... total blowouts

I went to the game when they won their 21st in a row in ‘17. Stadium sold out for a 12:30 game. That whole winning streak was amazing to watch!

 

I’m still mad you guys didn’t win it all in 1997. A friend of mine was huge Marlins fan cause he kept getting the Marlins helmet when he went to Dairy Queen and got the ice cream sundays lol. He took it as a sign he had to root for them and he wouldn’t shut the hell up about for years. 2003 was also a rough time for me, but to this day he’s still a marlins fan.

 

I can't remember if that game was against the Royals or not ???


I only got worried during the Baltimore series when whole world started watching
its unreal that during that whole streak they did not have to play the Twins (... might have just cut it a bit short)

 

Yep, they should have won it in ‘97. Even more heartbreaking was 2016 against the Cubs. We were up 3-1!!! Tied it in game 7 in the 8th inning of Chapman. I thought we would win it. Then a 15 minute rain delay, and the momentum went back to the Cubs.

2016 was a great season though. Not too upset that the Cubs won, they earned it.

 

If the the Indians didn’t beat the Yankees in the playoffs that year the Yankees should have won 5 World Series in a row

 

The game I went to was against Detroit. KC ended the streak two games later

 

The Yankees should have beat the Indians that year in the postseason. That’s what’s great about baseball, the underdog always has a chance
