you keep using that word, “politics,” and i don’t think you know what it means.

politics is literal policy or affairs of *the government.* athletes are not appointed by the government, they are private citizens. leagues are not run by the government, they are private organizations run by private citizens.

politics is what your taxes should be, how to divvy up funding, how to regulate industry, how to protect workers. basically all things relating to the government, and an opinion about what’s “fair.”

what you describe is actually a cultural issue and now a social movement. it has nothing to do with the government. perhaps your favorite entertainment network has decided to fan flames of racial division and tried to *politicize* an apolitical topic, but that doesn’t make it “politics.”

lastly, and most importantly, if being anti-racist offends you, maybe just stop watching? it’s a hobby not an obligation. you could always find something new!
