Well being a lifelong Pittsburgher, as were my parents and grandparents - and considering my father was offered a tryout by the Pirates in 1960 (he lived just a few blocks from Forbes Field), and baseball was his first love and the sport he taught us as children - I am a Pirates fan. . Hey, we won the first one. Just another 161 to go.

 

Don't know if this is improved Royals offense or if Texas pitching is going to have a really long year but we have 25 runs in the first 2 games.

 

35 runs in 4 games against the vaunted A's pitching staff. Looking forward to the rest of the season

 

Braves start the season 0-3... only place to go is up!

 

You must've never heard about the 1998 Marlins......

 

I know we won't go 0-162, so I'll chalk it up to a slow start out of the blocks...

 

I remember the 1997 Marlins team, WS champs, with Jim Leyland, Bobby Bonilla and John Wehner. Leyland was a great manager.

 

And then the 110 loss 1998 marlins after owner cashed out.

Why can’t baseball just be baseball??

 

I'm watching this 21 year old reliever the Pirates picked up as a Rule 5 Draft Pick from the Mets, Luis Oviedo. He stuck out 4 over 2 innings and is cool under pressure, even after he gave up a home run to Mike Moustakas just inside the right foul pole. It just might be a real good one.

 

Annnnnd woke culture has ruined another sport for me.

Guess its just hockey and Nascar.

 

One day... maybe we can move past all this woke/cancel culture BS and let sports be sports again. Didn't NASCAR recently have some sort of woke culture incident?

 

The sport itself didn't... one of the drivers tried to make much adieu about nothing.

Bubba Wallace, the minority driver, tried to say a garage door handle tied with a loop for easy closing was a "noose". The incident lasted a whole 5 minutes. His team also did the BLM thing for 1 race too... that was about it.
