remember during the 2017 season the cores of the balls differed and everyone was smashing homeruns.
I guess you can't be that consistent like the leather source for the balls and the mud rub supplier.

It’s the difference between tolerance and specification. Changing specs moves the whole group one way or the other. Leather quality and especially thickness can be fairly closely maintained, windings and tension even more so. The center weight might be the easiest spec to nail. Getting it to a perfect sphere is likely the hardest. A good job for microgravity industry.

That's back when ya could get quality made trash cans, pre covid manufacturing.

All teams cheat, some just got caught.

Scouting report, Altuve's weighed in at 5lbs and hairy.

It’s become a popularity contest rather than based on merit/accomplishments. The Max Mercy’s do the voting. If you didn’t brownose the press you’re not in. If you did you can get away with anything.

Dude got shot to live to be a Hall a Famer. He was fun to watch hitting home runs at clutch times and I enjoyed watching so many ESPN clips of him bombing. The good ole days of MLB before modern MLB and players trying to be social online famous.

I don't know the whole slate of the ones on the ballot this year but just off my head the 4 names I heard often:

    Bonds
    Schilling
    Manny
    Papi

IIRC Schilling has not come close and I think didn't care to be on the ballot anymore. Bonds and Manny (moreso the former) I'm sure won't ever get in because of the steroids..and I don't mean the initial sampling in 2003 when Ortiz's name showed up too. Bonds had always had the rumours, and Manny failed 2 tests..the first being in 2009 or 2010 IIRC, I know he was a Dodger. The second one was failed right before he retired.

I still can't believe he said the PEDs were for his wife. Misremembered, lol. Pretty redicilous he had to testify in Congress, it's just a game man!

That whole dog and pony show was all about Congress looking busy to parents to lazy to raise their own kids right and not being involved in the kids sports activities. A few chosen players were picked as the fall guys after the fact. Steroid use was ignored and yet the comish of that era got voted in anyway. Before steroids there were other drugs but players still went in except for guys like the Baby Bull because pot was so evil. Hall of fame balloting has lost all meaning. The guys that get in and the guys that don’t is rediculous. “Fame” should be obvious, not the perview of sports writers with an axe to grind.

I do agree with this and it's why any HOF (sports or otherwise) I never put much stock into. Don't get me started on the "Rock and Roll" one, quotes for my laughter

There’s an account on Reddit.com/r/baseball that’s been doing mike trout drawings everyday since the lockout and will continue to do so until it’s been lifted. The progressions are pretty good
