How's that Pablo Sandoval acquisition working out for ya?

 

Though our Royals are in a temporary slump the last 2 weeks, if you actually bother to watch them during post game interviews, they are quite grounded, humble, and polite in every interview I've seen and the team is back and forth in and out of 1st place in arguably the most competitive division in baseball. Combined with the fact they would be in 1st in many or 2nd in any other division in baseball . . . me no thinks this is a fluke!

True, early on when they were getting bean-balled multiple times every single game apparently as their price to pay for last year's success, they had a few players that took exception with their behavior and paid the price with multi-game suspensions but that has all settled down now and I am pretty proud of how they are all carrying themselves especially for such a top to bottom young team.

So far,

Team Batting Average = 1st
Team Slugging Percentage = 1st
Team On Base Percentage = 1st
Team On Base + Slugging = 1st [bogus stat if you ask me]
Team Pitching ERA = 2nd
Team Bullpen ERA = 1st

Yeah, they suck!

ugh...the Mariners are killing me. I have been a fan for a long time of theirs but dammit they are a bag of shit this year. last night they squandered another great start from their pitcher and could only give him 1 run. They just got Trumbo in a trade and I got to watch him twice last night go down on 3 pitches. Looks like he's learning the Mariners way quickly.

 

hes been missused in AZ, he will regain his dominance. Trumbo was a great add for the Ms.

My theory on their shenanigans is they probably have a bit of a chip on their shoulders since they're the Royals... Which gives them a bit of a "short guy complex" type attitude

Your Pirates are a good team. We'll be back in a few years. Have to use a few years to get rid of a decade of bad decisions by a GM. Farm system was shit and we signed some really bad contracts as well.

I actually have seen far less bandwagoning than I figured I would being in MO. My Cards have a rock-solid hold on fans in the eastern half of the state.

A few months ago I was praying my Astros would finish at .500, or at least close to it. But they're leading the division... and one of the best teams in baseball... this is unfamiliar territory, I dunno what to do, it's been 10 years!

 

How 'bout a beer?

 

I have pretty much given up on my Angels.They have as many holes as the Iraqi navy.Weaver is throwing junk than gets pissed off when someone hits a homer off his 55mph curve or his mid 80's fastball.The rest of the pitching staff tries but when your offense scores 3 runs a game they get blown up trying to be too perfect.Mike Scioscia is a dummy loyal to a fault.When a player gets hot he sits them for a regular starter.
Arte Moreno is a joke of an owner.He overspends on names like Hamilton and Pujols.Wells and Mattews,but he absolutely refuses to fix his mistakes by spending to fix those mistakes.Going into the season we needed a catcher,second baseman,left fielder.Nothing was done but pick up no name fill ins.Now they are seeing the results.
I would of fired the Gm,and Mike Scioscia right after last season ended.Winning 98 games and getting blown out by the Royals.There minor league teams are weak all around.Jerry Dipoto needs to go.The team this year has no energy,no fire.Players act like they're just going through the motions.When a manager has been there for 16 yrs I think you need a new voive,a new staff.

 

By the time of "the big brawl with the White Sox" that was [as I said] early on [April 23th I believe?], the Royals had been "beaned at the plate by far" more than any other team in baseball. I am not making that up. It is true. Most pundits acknowledged it was the whole "they didn't deserve to win the pennant last year" opinion by most teams they [by the way] were STILL BEATING AGAIN THIS YEAR and yet IN THE SERIES they took the Giants to 7 and were 90 feet from tying game 7. And, for the record, the Royals did win "the pennant". That is what winning the American or National league division is called the last time I checked.

Since the "big brawl" and subsequent suspensions, as I also said, the Royals have all settled down and have behaved in a much more polite, professional, and humble manner in every interview I've seen. Of course, they have also stopped getting beaned multiple times every game too.

Though I absolutely agree the All Star Game is nothing more than a popularity contest, the stats I listed in my previous post were ALL true "as of that post". They are just pretty damn impressive stats period.

You want to hate the Royals for what they've accomplished with 1/3 the salary cap of the coastal teams? Hate 'em.
You want to just hate the Royals period? You are entitled to your opinion.

You are NOT, however, entitled to your own facts!

And as of tonight, after a 2 week slump, the Royals at 32-23 are by the way back in 1st place again . . .

You know, I am just a fan of baseball period. And I am a fan of the Royals because they were [frankly] the only team within driving distance we could afford to go see period. My wife and I remained fans through all the dark years just out of enjoying baseball and a weekend get away in KC - always a fun place to go. We are now simply proud of what KC has managed to do actually building a team from the ground up with far less overhead than the big markets and how the extended KC community has responded funding that beautiful stadium, averaging 30K fans, hosting the 2013 All Star game, on and on.

Have I been trashing ANYONE? ANY OTHER TEAM? ANY OTHER PLAYER?

So, go on . . . trash all over this too! I swear some folks on this site SERIOUSLY need to consider decaf!
