2245 Pacific Time -- Mariners Win! 7-6 vs. Angels in OT (J.P. Crawford had to deliver the ice bucket, and returning it to dugout, stopped briefly for Shannon Dreher's post-game on-field interview to say, "I don't get paid for this overtime. Laughing to the celebration.) Mariners are 17-3 at home, now tied for first place in the division with the Astros.

Harry Ford's first walk-off with a sacrifice fly to deep right field with bases loaded! 12 innings, tied 4-4 after 9. Wild! I'll have to listen to Mike Salk and Brock Huard tomorrow on KIRO/KXLY... unless I stay up for a few minutes of post-game show...
Tough pitching match-up tomorrow, and the bullpen needs rest (again). :typing: :woot: It's well past my bedtime... and I'm taking the red truck to my 3 year old grandson's at 9 in the now early morning...

    I just saw the highlights!

    Second pitch in and Wham!!!

High fastball goes into the stands.

Walk-Offs are a great experience...and they seem to be happening frequently in the past couple of weeks.

Giants are 7 games back in the standings and are competing with the Mets for the Wildcard...other 2nd place clubs have more wins than either team.

It's going to be a nail-biting September.

2 perfect assists, one from each team and then a walk off slam in extras. I wish they’d gotten the win for Verlander but I’m glad he pitched so well. I wonder if the team has a contest for most ho hum reaction to a big fly.

Both of those throws from the outfield were amazing.

And, Verlander....where was he earlier in the season? Him and Kershaw currently pitching well, well past their use by date. Good for them.

Smith out, that could be a tough one for the giants. Flores will have to DH and he has hit nothing like he did earlier in the season the last few months.

I pick on Williams occasionally regarding his base coaching but sending our fastest runner on that pop fly to medium center was the right call. It needed a perfect throw for an out and the Dodgers did that.

He was better than his record, no run support at all. Could Casey play 1st?

He did fairly recently. He is quickly becoming one of the better 2nd basemen we have had in awhile.

    13-7....Ouch. Dodgers crush us.

We are still 1/2 game out of the wild card.

I watched the Dodger game half asleep on the couch last night…starting at 9pm.

Game ended at midnight here on the east coast…I watched the last 2 innings.

I did catch the highlights and see Ohtani has hit his 49th HR which was also the furthest this season.

Kershaw got whacked in the first inning but somehow Dodgers were able to outhit the Giants.

*Nine combined runs in the 5th inning.*
*Max Muncy hit in the head by 94mph fastball--he stayed in the game*
*13 runs scored...not since Jun 22nd had they done that!*

Rubber match today at 4pm to decide series.

Game 4 in Seattle/Tacoma: Mariners 11, Angels 2... Mariners win 9 in a row, now 1st place in the AL West. Cal Raleigh catching hits his 54th home run, tied with Mickey Mantle for the season record home runs by a switch hitter. I'm thinkin' since Cal was named for Cal Ripken (rather than Todd Raleigh, Jr., the name given to his younger brother), this year he seems to be Cal Rippin' Raleigh. The "Big Dumper" fits, too. Nice to see the offense performing well with the defense. They're definitely running the bases well, too!
A beautiful sight yesterday was driving north of Spokane and seeing a BNSF unit train (4 or 5 locomotives leading 110+ cars loaded with wrapped lumber loads) parked on a siding that we heard leaving from several miles away as the horns sounded at a road crossing. My 2 YO grandson has good ears, too!
