This is exactly what you want. Its alot better to be the underdog from these "experts" than to be the favorites. Teams use this as motivation. I remember waaaaayyyy back in 1990 when the reds swept the A's. Nobody picked the reds to win. 30-1 odds against them.....just wish i would have put some money down in vegas. :(

However, its game 1 and I wouldn't count the tigers out just yet. I'm an NL fan, but still think it is gonna be a good series.

Yeah, it definitely fuels the fire. And by no way am I counting the series over, or even doubting Verlander's ability. It's just so satisfying to come out STRONG in game 1, crush their ace, and send a message to the sports world. We are here to play BALL! And 3 jacks from Pablo? HA! Amazing. Its become the Giants trademark... Solid pitching from both starter and relievers, and 1 player, usually a different one every night, stepping up huge on offense. Now lets see if MadBum can get back to his true form tonight. I have a feeling he can!

    LETS GO GIANTS!!

AWESOME MOMENT!!! Afghanistan Veteran Marine Corporal Nicholas Kimmel who lost both legs & his left arm throws out the ceremonial first pitch... Standing some 50' from home plate and throws a STRIKE w/o any assistance! OORAH!!!

Interesting game 1 to say the least..I just hope I get a chance to watch. Love baseball but with my hectic life I've had an arm's length relationship with the game this year.

I missed tonights game except for the last inning. Looks like another great performance by the Giants. I have to admit I had the Tigers winning this series but the Giants are hot and they still have Vogelsong and Cain to pitch.

Very impressed with the way the Giants are playing.

Game 3 tonight. At Detroit, so we'll see if the Tigers can get their bats hot. The Giants play very well on the road. Ought to be good.

I don't do commercials...and I need the ability to FF past McCarver & Buck wasting my ears on much of their bs.

Agree! McCarver & Buck are my least favorite things about post season baseball. Mindless twits!

    Pitching, pitching, pitching.

Some pretty good defensive plays from both teams in this series as well.

Tigers are on the ropes. Can they win at least one?

Jeesh, I don't care, I hope they steamroll Detroit, Giants are definitely the better team, no doubt about that, better than the Cards, Reds and Yankees.

    No doubt- I'm in 100% agreement. I just want a jaw-dropping show-stopping game.

I don't think I'll get it though, giants are pretty good at leaving the other team with a goose egg at the end of 9 innings this post season.

Far from it.I would still of liked to see a decent series atleast. One team plays while the other lays down.Even Giants fans have to admit the Tigers havent showed up.
