Harold is a national broadcaster for MLB Network. Hes very intelligent. I think what he said was about the fans, not actual players and its getting ridiculously blown out of proportion.

I for one love Harold and his insight.

 

Except Canada has one of the highest adult softball participation rates. In fact, most guys I know have played organised ball at some level at some point in their lives. Very few people I know don't know how to field and catch a ball.

Your announcer, how ever good he may be at describing the intricacies of the game, knows shit all about Canadians and should of kept his foot in his mouth. So to speak.

BTW I never brought the comment up, and when someone did I pretty much left it alone because it's just a dumb ass who got caught stereotyping Canadians, which is nothing new and something I really do not care about.

However, it does go to show the education level of the announcer/broadcaster.

The Giants don't have a recipe for winning other than put the best players you have on the field and hope it all works out. Injuries are something every team has to deal with. The Giants are sitting at home right now because they're not the best team in their division and are worse than the Cubs and Pirates. If you had watched baseball for more than 5 years you'd know that the playoffs are a crapshoot.

Once again, an arrogant Giants fan is a new Giants fan.

Exactly. He sounds like the kind of guy that thinks the Japanese watch to many cartoons and that's why there aren't more of them in MLB . Probably thinks that Mexican players eat to many Buritos causing gut issues and that's why they are passionate players too...

 

I really believe Utley was preventing a DP nothing more. I also believe he legitimately regrets injuring Tejada.
I don't disagree with the suspension.
That being said, the rule reguarding a play at the plate... RIDICULOUS! The runner and the catcher are clueless about what is legal to do in that situation which is why it is challenged in every instance now. Then the issue of shortening the length of a game is brought up....REALLY!?!
The more rules the more I obsurd the game.
Players at one time would sharpen their cleats for slides and hold their foot up to cut the fielder or worse.

 

Is Utlley the first person to get suspended for a bad slide at 2nd base? and did he only get suspended because Tejada got hurt?

 

I don't know to answer the first and yes (imo) to the second.
