He had 19 plate appearances in that series. He walked 13 of them. 4 were IBB.

Studly? Maybe not. But you can only score when you're on base somewhere. I personally think Joey Votto is a stud and he walks more than most in the league. In 10 years he has 774-odd walks.

I do not like anything about Harper. But this year he has shown more patience at the plate and a better eye. That's baseball. Most fans want at least a Homer a night from him. That's not baseball. Or, that's not all baseball is about. Way mor to the game than that.

It means that teams are pitching around him for fear he will do serious damage. Very studly. And to be clear, I don't care for the guy. But I recognize talent.

The Angels are one of the teams predicted to possibly sign Lincecum. He definitely wouldn't hurt the team, but I remember thinking several years ago that Lincecum would have a short career due to his terrible throwing mechanics.

With the Giants 4 and 5 spots in the rotation sucking I'm surprised they didn't sign him. Perhaps he didn't want to sign with the Giants because he felt slighted when they didn't resign him a short while back. Then again, they should know him better than any other team but didn't make the right offer, I guess. Supposedly he threw 92 mph. Looked good. Surgery must have helped. I wonder what it would take to sign him?

The Giants are one of the other two teams that are interested. The third team is CHW.

After a couple great ball games and a stellar performance from Santiago today, the Angels sweep the Mariners at Safeco.

I have no answer. It is a rarity, if it has ever happened before. Maybe when Ruth was pitching.

Even after this weekend, the Mariners are 6th in the majors in bullpen ERA, sub 3.00. Cishek had been lights out. Cron's go-ahead two-run single was a nasty two seamer on the inside part of the plate. Pujols' go-ahead three run homer was another nasty two seamer that was knee-high and on the inside part of the plate, a great pitch, but Pujols drilled it, and today the M's got shut down by Santiago, and Hernandez gave up three runs. Trout had two more hits off Felix. He is now batting over .400 career off the guy who supposedly is the King.

Rangers/Blue Jays. I think Odor needs to be suspended. Sure, the slide was late. Result; double play ruled for illegal slide. Was Odor even touched? Didn't look like Bautista even made contact. Major overreaction. Suspension needed.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I thoroughly enjoyed that brawl. Joey Bats needed a good slug to the face after all the crap hes done. But yes, a suspension is needed on both parts to cool them off.

I'm no Blue Jays fan so no dog in the fight, so to speak, but Bautistas action resulted in an automatic double play. He was not involved in the fight other than as a punching bag. He was wrapped up by anther Ranger before he had an opportunity to retaliate. Of those two, only Odor should be suspended. Now, there were others invoked in the scrum. No telling.

Maybe a one-game suspension for Bautista. I enjoyed watching the punch, but Odor deserves a 5 to 10 game suspension.

What would be the justification for Bautistas suspension? The rules require a double play be called. That was done. Odor was able to avoid the slide, so no contact/injury. Not bustin yer balls, maybe you saw something I didn't.

I'm not 100% sure of how the new rule will be carried out and enforced, but I'm also not a fan of it. However, if MLB has determined that Bautista's slide was against the rules, I don't think he should receive any more than a 1-game suspension.

One can never have too many light bars.
Joey Bats should have a 1 game suspension for wearing white oakleys. Odor will probably get 5 games but he will sit out with his ego fully intact and a Rangers fanbase that loves him.

So if both sides were warned after the hbp. He slides in obviously too hard and 5 foot past the bag and jumps up aggressively. IMO, that's no different than another hbp.

But in all fairness, I've wanted somebody to slug that jackass for a while now. So maybe I'm biased. Was a pretty solid right though.

Not sure how I feel about that. Braves management didn't exactly assemble a playoff roster for him to work with.
