I'm a Cub fan, That's obvious, I'm also a realist , which means they have still have 3 1/2 months to through it all away and once again contend for the toilet bowl.

 

That's still better than the Jays. They put themselves behind the 8 ball and now they have to scramble in a tough division to even get to the wild card game.

 

Naw. They have a much better team than they've had in quite some time. Barring injuries, they'll be there at the end of the year. Unless the Cardinals get hot. Still.......

 

You don't regularly follow the cubs do you. Let's see; There been the chokes in2007-08 we committed numerous critical errors and were outscored 20–6 in a Dodger sweep, the "Bartman" incident in 2003 where we were 5 outs away , then the Cubs retained many players who experienced career years in '98, and after a fast start in 1999, they collapsed again (starting with being swept at the hands of the cross-town White Sox in mid-June) and finished in the bottom of the division for the next two seasons. then 1984 we had the Durham between the 5 hole in the Padres game to lose that series. I understand that Cubs fans are tainted. Understandably so. But I waited most of my life (Giants fan since I was a toddler, so says my dad) for the Giants to win. Nearly 50 years. Hope springs eternal.

im really liking the Braun/Giants trade talks. This really excites me as a Giants fan. Probably could just give a pack of gum and a high 5 to Brewers. That organization is in a deep deep abyss.

 

Way too big a salary to take on. Will probably have to give up a great deal of prospects, too. I dunno. They could certainly use the offense.
