Mariners big ceremony to retire Griffey number from the organization. To boot, they win the game come from behind style.

 

I should have gone to it today...

 

Pretty special weekend for the Mariners. During the number retirement ceremony, they had a video with Willie Mays where he said Junior hasn't called him back. Griffey then called Willie during the ceremony.

I only had a ticket for the Saturday game because a buddy of mine. Thought about Friday and Sunday too but decided to skip it.

 

Entering the All Star Break my SF Giants had the best record in Baseball. Since they have gone a collective 9-20, and as of last night finally fell from 1st place. Well done, Giants. You suck!

 

But, it's an even numbered year....

Isn't that usually the argument? Cubs and Mariners have taken off of late.

 

Yes they have. Go cubs! I almost don't know how to cope with their success. Too many losing seasons and let downs. Lol

 

Mariners vs. Nationals world series. Get the monkey of the back of the only two teams to have never played in the WS. Get one of them to win and then focus back on the Cubs for their 111 year drought.

 

Not when you're losing.

 

Indeed ... and to think like a month ago or so, all the "experts" counted LA as "down & out" or "no chance now of post season play".

Wow, Doyer fans come out when their team finally gets to first place. Giants sucked for over a month now, and it still took the Doyers that long to overcome a 6 game lead. Meaning: the Doyers suck, as well. Just, currently, not AS bad. Looks like the winner of the NL West will be the team that sucks least. Head to head match ups on the horizon. Whats Kershaws status?

Sore loser? Hardly. I've been a fan for 50 years, through the ups, and mostly, downs. Still 40+ games left. It aint over til it's over.
