Great race overall and great to have them back after the break. Got to hand it to Aprilia. They have absolutely changed places with Honda. Felt bad for my boy Quartararo. Long lap penalty didn't affect him to bad but the Yamaha really struggled. Nice to see Miller podium, finally. MotoGP needs a Duc killer and it seems like it's Aprilia.

Regarding the Ducati vs. Aprillia contest. I have always felt the Ducati had the edge in handling and power out of the corner. The Aprillia is a powerful beast and getting more refined year after year. Much depends on the jockey in the saddle of course.
Anybody miss the old MV Augusta bikes?
I follow real roads racing, both classics and moderns, as practiced in Ireland and the Isle of Man. Any of y’all follow real roads?

TT racing is always fun to watch. Those guys are a different breed. IOM TT is definitely on the bucket list and I'd love to get over there in the next couple years.

It certainly is and after going to the IOM in 2016 I became hooked47EAE778-C4D0-4F85-A644-C21FDF5BC789.jpg . The Manx people are so hospitable and fun. Ireland has some outstanding road racing too. Definitely go when you have the opportunity.

That is the worst portrayal of Joey Dunlop I've ever seen lol. But yet the guy needed subtitles to be able to understand him.

That sculpture is on top of Mt. Snaefel on the mountain course. My mucker who races classics there swears Joey was at his best racing when he was drunk, lol.
Interviews with Joey are classic, I have a good collection of them dating back to the days of his racing 2 strokes and of course his time with Honda and those nearly unrideable beasts.

I shook Nicky Hayden's hand once at Laguna Seca. He damn near broke it.

Nicky Hayden was such a personable guy. Run down like a dog in the street while out training on his bicycle. Broke my heart.
Have a tee shirt where his quote about the IOM racers is - “ These boys are hard as nails”.

Ducati has been better than most other manufacturers in the power department since the days of Casey Stoner. Back then, it was steer with the rear because the chassis was so stiff it didn't turn well. They've come a long way since then.

I try to catch Isle of Man and Macau GP when I can. I wouldn't say I follow them though. Watching the side car racing is pretty sick too.

I saw side car racing once at Sears Point. Those are the sickest, most monsterous, loudest, powerful, crazy vehicles ever put together. That's all I can say other than my ears rang for 3 days after.

Picked up a new lid to add to the collection. Also have a shoei Dovi x Ducati replica coming. I need a helmet storage solution for the garage.

^AWESOME find right there. How is the ventilation with it?
I ended up with a Arai Corsair X with Maverick Vinales graphics when I lived in AZ. Too much heat but want to wear a lid. The Corsair X flows real well for me even here in FL.
I admit I get “the look” from some other Harley riders who evidently believe their heads alone are enough protection when wearing the magic doo rag, lol.

Seems to have good air flow. I usually ride around town with the visor cracked so air flow is never much of an issue. It feels much lighter than my AGV's and it also came with smoked and clear visor options.

I don't understand how people can ride without a helmet or even those half helmet things that you see harley riders wear, but to each their own, I suppose.

I haven't bought a new dome in a while. My last was an Arai Crutchlow (black and green to go with my kawi) and an Arai Windham for my dirtbike and sumo. I like Arai's. They fit my head well, not much wind noise and great on protection. But damn! Have they got expensive lately.

^ The Arai fits me best too. I find some serious deals on EBay. Have to stalk these sellers but lids from prior race seasons or lesser known riders often are a bargain compared to MSRP and they are brand new. Just a thought for next time you are looking.
