Well, if Pramac went to Yamaha, maybe Yamaha would gain valuable information and become better as a result. Poor Pramac. lol

I read a good explanation of why Quartararo may have re-signed with Yamaha. Maybe y'all have seen it, but if not, I'll copy and paste it here:

Former MotoGP Rider believes Fabio Quartararo signed early with Yamaha because of Jorge Martin

Fabio Quartararo signed with Yamaha for 2025 and 2026. Allegedly being payed 12 million € per year which would make El Diablo the best payed MotoGP rider. However some believe that it was wrong to sign with Yamaha.

One of them is former MotoGP Rider, Randy De Puniet. De Puniet was recently asked about the contract renewal with Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha. De Puniet said that El Diablo maybe signed a bit to soon.

    As De Puniet explained.

"I wasn't surprised at all by his decision. There's no place in Ducati, there's no place in KTM. There could have been room at Honda, but I don't think Fabio fits Honda's profile. There may have been talks with Aprilia, because we've heard about them in the last few weeks, but we shouldn't forget that Aprilia doesn't have the financial strength of Yamaha, and I think today, the financial aspect has also weighed in the balance.

When you look at the performance of the Yamaha today and the performance of the KTM and the Ducati, if I had had an offer from the factory team, KTM or Ducati, I think he would have left, so for me yes, today it's a default choice.

We must not forget one thing as well, and that is that I think he has signed early because although Fabio was world champion three seasons ago, there is a Jorge Martin who is poking his nose in the transfer market and Yamaha is not insensitive to this rider.

Imagine, if Jorge Martin signs for Yamaha, there's no room for Fabio Quartararo at Yamaha, there's no room at Ducati or KTM, so he could end up in a satellite team with an Aprilia or another machine. So for a rider of his caliber, it would have been very hard to digest. Now we just have to hope that the Yamaha progresses this season and that next year we can fight at the front again."

Wow, that was a great race today!!! Lots of great passing, a few crashes and an awesome comeback. I'll be watching this race again.

Austin is always a crash fest. Watching practice I did notice the braking bumps in a couple areas. Texas is ride 'em cowboy territory. This Acosta kid has big brass ones for sure. Vinales finally has his stuff figured out. That was a mad charge he put on. One thing about Spain, they turn out some excellent riders.

Today’s race was The Kind we’ve been waiting for. 93 is looking dangerous again. Great for the sport. This season is going to be epic.

The sprint race was a crashfest. Some guy was trying to argue with me that FQ20 was back and I was like, everybody crashed? He finished 15th today. 5 ducati's in the top 6. And pramac wants to go yamaha? Another thing bothering me is the overuse of the aero. You see zarco's honda?

True true, but Honda is clueless at the moment. They need help from outside. Copying is only going to get them so far. Their bikes in SBK suck too.

Wholeheartedly agree on the areo packages. SBK is fun to watch because of the lack of aerodynamics and something you’d find on the roads once in a blue moon. British Sb is fun to watch also. Mayham under control.

It's funny because honda rules motocross? I guess everybody in motogp is waiting for the 2025 rules change.

Ironic isn’t it? Honda has to change somewhere in the manufacturing stages.

So, WTH happened to Joe Roberts? It used to be if he started 11th, he'd be lucky to finish 11th. This year, he's finishing on the podium. I had all but given up on him. Go Joe!

True true, I gave up on Joe too! When he gave up the possible Aprilia ride a few years back, because he said he wanted to improve and was not ready, he sure as hell has stuck to his guns. He is looking awesome.

More rules news. 2027- 850cc. No ride height/holeshot device gizmo's. Less to no aero and bikes to be slimmer, not as wide. Interesting that in a world of ultramodern improvement motogp would take a step back. You can see it as a move to level the playing field. But yet I'm reminded of Rob Muzzy who said that the first thing they do as a team is lock themselves in a room with the latest rulebook and go over it word by word to figure out every improvement and update that they legally can do.

Think I saw they are getting shorter as well, and reducing the total engines per season by 1. smaller tanks as well, which makes sense with the smaller engine size.

I can't say enough about Ducati. Once again 5 of the 6 top bikes were Ducati.

Sad to hear of Esparargo's retirement. Dude seems to still be at the top of his game. I read a blurb that his start of the season injury is to blame. My favorite moment of his career is when he came across the finish line with one lap to go and started celebrating because he thought he'd won!

He's kind of an idiot, but he's a hard working idiot. He should be largely credited with Aprilia's turnaround over the past few years. That being said, it's time for him to hang it up to make room for another up and comer like Joe Roberts or who knows who.

Haven't watched all of this weekend's races yet but WTH was with that sprint?! Three riders crash out of the lead?! The way Pecco's front was washing out from the 1st lap, I was wondering if he was going to go down. Binder didn't surprise me as much as he was all kinds of squirrely as he worked his way up. It almost seemed that riders let him by just to keep from getting collected when he did go down. Fernandez actually surprised me to be in the lead, not his crash.

I'm trying to coordinate a trip to the Isle for the race next year. Ballaugh Bridge is definitely on the shortlist of viewing spots along with Ago's Leap.

I enjoy taking a break from watching the corporate MotoGP robots to watch these guys. They're a different breed for sure. These dudes are wrenching on bikes and riding in multiple classes instead of hanging out in their posh hospitality areas to get away from fans. I get a kick out of some of the interviews where they're not trying to tiptoe around anything and the cockney accents make it all the better.
