I got about half a dozen today. Small grays and yellows. I haven’t seen any nice grays or yellows. We need a bunch of rain. Maybe it’ll make them pop?

Is a 20 gauge enough to hunt them with, or should I bring a 12 gauge?

I randomly ran across this thread and wanted to know if anyone knows what these are? I saw them at a house I was working at and thought they looked cool. It was about a foot or more wide in Dunwoody Ga

Looks like a chicken of the woods. I’m no expert so don’t take my word for it.

Morels and safe to eat after cooking, right? They fit all the pictures and descriptions I’ve found online.

Just be careful mushroom hunters. A mistake or misidentification can be deadly. Many years ago I use to go mushroom hunting with a friend who was an “expert”. I never ate any that we found but he certainly did. One time he ate one which he misidentified and it almost cost him his life. He was hospitalized several days and it did permanent damage to his liver. So be careful.
