I'm looking and calling around for an antenna mount that sticks out from between the tailgate and the tail light. No body seems to be making them yet. Does anyone know of one for the 3rd gen?

Putting this out here before I make my own

I've seen people on here using the firestik door jamb mount but, I think they have had to bend it a little to get it to fit... which seems like...kinda crappy. I know that BAMF makes them for 2nd gens but not 3rd.

I used some angle aluminum for a half assed bracket attached to my bed rails and the SWR readings were perfect. Surprised @ForeRunner and myself that it grounded that well. Just an idea.

I have 2 c4 mounts that I tried. It didn't fit well on mine truck and I'm not sure if it's the bed stiffeners or what. But they fully refunded my money. As such, if anyone wants 1 of them (i have 2) I'll send it your way if you cover shipping.

I just talked to C4 the other day about their mounts. They confirmed that they are indeed discontinued. However, they do still have some inventory but they will cite their reasons for discontinuing if you choose to order one. They had a lot of complaints about the bracket rubbing on the tailgate when it opened and closed so they chose to not make them anymore. I got to looking at this issue on my truck and I can see their point. However, I mentioned a very easy fix to them for the clearance issue but they didn't seem very receptive to it or they just weren't interested in looking into it at this point. It appears that if the bracket would simply run towards the inside of the bed, there would be plenty of clearance available vs running it to the outside, which was the initial configuration. I obviously can't verify that without making one but it's something I'm considering trying. Just a thought for the DIY guys out there with some fabrication skills.

I am still running mine, however, it does rub initially. Once I noticed that, I took my antenna and coax off, then took the mount off and bent it how I wanted to and it's good now!

Is that directly touching your paint? Looks like it would cause damage with the antenna sway. My problem with the c4 mount was rubbing while driving due to the antenna sway.

I'm going to weld a triangular piece under the mount to make it more rigid and I also bent it to prevent paint rubbing
