    more like weekend flea markets....

marys swap meet is a good one.. know alot of guys who get their chickens there.. can buy some guns there too.... alot of misc man stuff.. then alot of mexican stuff...

then there's Old paris... there's a guy there thats got good nascar collectables for cheap prices... alot of puppies, neo nazi stuff, and a "tool section" they had a set of standard snap on wrenches for $75.. not a bad price at all...

then Golden Goose flea market... there is an old man in the back that sells Lionel Trains... he's got a ton of postwar, and alot of tinplate marx's... he's building a big layout there as well... price's are fair, he does %20 off book value...

There has to be one. Heck we got two of them in Tulsa! Just google it, ours have a website and a FB page. Ours won't start until April 14.

was looking for recommendations...we had a whole bunch out in san diego and we went to 3 of the ones listed on google and they turned out to be garbage, mostly people selling store bought products rather than fresh stuff...I found one via google though that looks promising...we'll see once we get into our place and have room/use for that stuff.

yeah... some parts of midwest city are pretty bad...i was able to stay in TLF on base for almost 2 months. i just applyed for an exstension and was all good.

mary's does have some produce stands... but alot of time is produced that is purchused from a distrubtor... i was trying to find oklahoma peachs and asked a stand and they said nope these came from florida... we belong to some sort of CSA program, you give this lady $50 a month and she drops off a big tupper ware container full of produce... my wife likes it, i dont think we are going to stick with it though, she buys her produce from a distrubtor as well.. but it is fresh....

during the summer theres a LOCAL farmers market that pops up in the middle of the strip in the center of the shopping center across from base, where lowe's best buy and target are.... its actually all local stuff, but most of them sell out like an hour after they open...

The ones in Tulsa are mixed. Some are the actual grocers, some are re-sellers. That is in regards of vegetables. The meat guys (pork, chicken, BEEF) are ALL local! Same as bread, dairy (fresh milk, butter, cream and cheeses).

About the veggies, once you talk to the vendors, you'll figure out in no time who's who.

Oh, not all pork vendors sell nitrate free bacon/sausages, but they do put it on their labels, so read and ask before you buy!

Also, to buy raw milk, you have to pick it up at their farm. They can't sell it to you AFTER they transport it! But they can sell raw cream (for coffee!) cheeses or butter! Those items were not added to the law!

Good luck and welcome to Okieland! BTW, you lucky son of a gun! They just recently open the Sunflower Market in OKC, like just a few months ago, same as their Whole Foods. If you want a Trader Joe's you have to drive to Norman!

    Good luck, and welcome!

PS: If you are ever broke for a cold one, let ALawrence know. He'll take care of ya! :D

where is the house off of? I'm just off of Eastern and 27th. it is the first neighborhood once you cross the Moore city limits. depending on what time you have to be at work, you have to hit the gate at certain times lol. I don't have to be to work until 7, but I have to hit the gate at 6:35 or else I get stuck in line and am late. at 6:35 there is usually no line, but 6:40 there is a line half a mile long.

apparently the guy killed himself...had a plastic bag over his head...maintenance guy found him when he was looking for the next week's payment. dude had two dogs in the unit with him and from what the maint. guy said, it looked like the dogs tried to claw at the bag (scratch marks on his face). animals surprise me more and more every day.

i feel bad for his dogs...they appeared to be very well behaved, didn't run off when the animal services came to get them and let them run around the grass before he took them away.

Hey Driver, I went buy that donut shop in Jenks one Saturday morning that you told me about and it was closed. Nobody was there and the parking lot was empty. Are they still open?

Tried that Jersey Mike's sub place here in Midwest City and I have to say, it puts almost every other sub place I have had before to shame.

you should try Akropolis on airdepo... really good gyro's... the wife and i like to eat at murphy's family grill really cheap place to eat. the owner really takes pride in his food. i've actually been really impressed with the comissary subs, they make them right there custom for you... they are pretty decent.

you guys like sushi? there is this place on sooner and 15th, its inside the corner gas station.. its REALLY good. i actually like it better then In the raw or Saii
