I am hoping to have another one soon. Mine was stolen and I am back in the market.

Mine was a polished stainless .38. They did not steal the custom grips that I had made for it.

I have the Kimber stainless. I love it. As far as concealed carry goes its a tad heavy but I can conceal it alright. I'm 6'1 and have a 29 inch waist.

My Kimber Pro CDP II the day I brought him home. LOVE this gun. Crimson trace grips to be purchased next. Looking at doing green over red laser.

Here is my UC2. To be honest this was a pain in my ass before it got broken in. It was crazy tight new. A lot of profanity until I hit the 1K mark and it settled in. Have about 2K through it now and it runs flawless with any ammo I put in it.

My daily carry (Kimber Ultra CDP II) lives in a Hidden Hybrid leather/kydex. Can wear it IWB or OWB, but always at 3 o'clock. It's not terribly heavy, but I find a two magazine Fobus OWB paddle rig at the 9 o'clock evens everything right out...

This is my daily carry. Absolutely love it. I use El Paso Saddlery holsters - love their work and leather.

Always been a 1911 fan, and this bad boy is my favorite gun I own. Goes great with a Theis IWB at 4 o'clock.

1911's are one thing you can't have only one of. I love and own many Sprinfield's.

Kimber's are GREAT guns. In fact, most of the 1911s I see are very good weapons. However, I own a LOT of guns, including 5 1911s. I would NOT suggest a 1911 as your very first handgun, ESPECIALLY if you are planning on it as a conceal carry gun. The facts are they are heavy, more involved regarding disassembly and cleaning, and are not that easy to conceal. For your FIRST handgun, I would suggest a Glock. Simple, RELIABLE and very easy to maintain. PLUS, you get the choice of many different calibers. And you mentioned a rail and lasers...? Glocks can easily be customized with these type items. PLUS they are cheaper. Again, not bashing 1911s. They are a great weapon. I just keyed on the fact that you mentioned it was going to be your FIRST handgun. That's my two cents.... And, BTW, it's awesome to see people exercising their 2nd Amendment Right!
