Thinking of attempting the trail from Tahoe to Utah. Anyone done it recently or now of some good current info!?
Been flipping through Tacoma world and overland bound but nothing is recent? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated….

Hope I was able to help you, PM sent. we did this last September from east to west.

A stop in Eureka (nice camp ground south side of town, really nice people) is a good idea for fuel, I did 12-13 mpg going through Nevada and 16mpg through Utah, so I only needed an extra 10gals. Got stuck on the silt roads in Easter Nevada, right up to the frame, luckily had friends to winch out. Had 6 detours due to ranchers closing the road, dry lake bed outside of Fallon and the road washed out. Camping spots are far and few, most will be dispersed camping where you find it.

Never saw the part where Tacoma Beast was worried about rolling over going into the river bed, but we did get lost and did about 20 miles of the old Lincoln Highway.

i watched the Tacoma Beast and Justin McBride videos.

I did it in 2009 on a Motorcycle. Fuel can be scarce.

That’s so amazing, I’ve been looking at bikes a lot more lately. Good considering KLR 650 or the KTM 690. What are you guys riding?
