I would definitely agree that if you don’t clean the gun immediately it will be trash.

Yes. As stated earlier I took the bed off, power washed the frame inside and out. Then I scraped and wire brushed the areas that needed it. De-greased everything, metal etched everything and let it dry after washing the metal etching off. Then I proceeded with the por-15 application 2 coats. Then I sprayed the frame internally, when you do this make sure you cover every hole in the frame with tape or it will get everywhere. Once it was dry I removed the tape and sprayed the POR-15 Hardner over the frame. I was tired of fooling with it.

Thanks guys for all the input. Just was searching options. Come to find out, I got approved for the new frame through Toyota. So do not have to worry about painting the old frame. Just have to worry about keeping the new frame well undercoated/ oiled. Thanks again guys.

Brought my truck in 5 days before the 15 year warranty was up, and got approved. Waiting for the frame to come in to Toyota.

I have been using Fluid film and it has been great for 4 new england winters. The only rust on my truck is a small spot on the bed floor where the coating cracked (it is a ridgid coating from Toyota) and some salt or calcium chloride got in the crack and it stayed. Terrible rust hole. That confirms my belief that a conforming coating like fluid film is best. I think a material like linex bed coating is not appropriate for frame coating or any undercoating application.

    Didn't read the thread, but
What ever you do, you don't want to create a barrier that can trap moisture inside your coating. This issue with some of these coatings, they crack moisture gets inside and rusting begins while you can't see it.

My research suggested that the best approach is a fluid film or crown type of annual or more spraying.
