I would stick with what Toyota Recommends.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I don't see why not, Royal Purple is good stuff. I drive a manual tranny so can't help you there, but it should say on the bottle what brands it is good for.

    This.

Toyota T-IV or WS... depending on whether you have a 4spd or 5spd.

Personally, I like Mobil-1 and Amsoil products, and I ran Amsoil Torque-Drive in my '06 Duramax's Allison, but I won't put anything but Toyota fluid in my Tacoma trans.

I wouldn't run royal purple in anything, but that's just me.

Stick with what toyota designed to be ran in the transmission.

I and a friend are running with it. Mine in my Taco and the friend in a Diesel truck 15qt and he has increased his MPG by 3 miles. We both swear by the product.

Amsoil has an excellent WS-compatible transmission fluid for automatics - I've ran it with absolutely no issues in my TRD DCLB. Never used RP fluid before, but if RP has a WS-compatible offering, I don't see why it would cause a problem.
