Its amazing what a lever gun will start doing once you put a peep sight on them. I've always thrown on skinners which are worth every penny of $100.

I love Skinner sights! I have them on my 30-30. I have the XS on my 45-70 and I think I like it a little better, due to that awesome white stripe on the front sight.

Bought because I have a Colt SSA so one cowboy gun needs a cowboy rifle.

Just googled the XS. Do you have the XS peep and front post or just the XS post?

I have the whole system, rail, front sight etc.

The white stripe on the front post really sets this sight system apart from others. It's so natural and so easy to shoot accurately with these sights!

Wow that is impressive. They seem to have made an incredibly natural sight system to begin with, a bit more intuitive.

Its a good thing there will always be more guns because now I can put them on my next one...(looking for a pistol cal.)
    Thanks Cubie

Nothing wrong with Skinners at all, I've shot them for years and years now. The XS system was $120 when I bought it 10 years ago, not sure what they cost today.

They look about the same now. XP was $100 for base model when I just looked. The one screw (non rail) base system may make me a bit worried. I think i'd like two screws in the rear but realistically i'm never throwing my guns so its probably whatever

Have three lever guns; A Henry Big Boy in .45 colt. A Winchester 94 in 30-30 and another Winchester 94 in .375 Win.

Never had a bit of trouble with any of them, my only real issue is finding .375 Win ammo. Almost an impossible task these days!

You’re not alone. This rifle definitely garners it’s share of dislikes from those who enjoy the traditional look. I actually switch it back to iron sights and wood fore end from time to time but it’s still black so I can’t stray too far away from tacticool. Ha
