Any other OR owners elect to ADD the air dam?

Mine's off, and I wouldn't put it back on for <5mpg. lol

 

Toyota's website is notoriously inaccurate. The window sticker's rating is straight from the EPA

 

If anyone has to budget on that 1MPG then you shouldn’t have a truck is all I’m saying. No need to argue about which one gets better MPG blah blah blah. No one cares who’s panties are prettier, they all do the same job.

 

^Hey I happen to have prettiest panties. All jokes aside, if you plan to drive this truck to 200k, perhaps +1mpg is worthwhile.

 

Right, that's what I was going by, if I am not mistaken the manufacturer is who submits MPG numbers to the EPA.

 

Gas is going to be 5 bucks per gallon here in CA (it already is in some parts). I put one on my OR and I'll take the 1mpg win any time.

 

Can someone do the math on 1mpg difference over the course of say...ten years? Curious what the dollar amount would be.

Assuming 15k a year, 21 vs 22 mpg at $2.75 a gallon

21 = 15,000/21 = 714.285 x $2.75= 1964.28
22 = 15,000/22 = 681.818 x $2.75 = 1874.99

$89.293 a year

Edit: I had mine off for a while, and i noticed about a 1mpg difference when I put it back on. I think it makes a big difference with windy days, and will probably be more meaningful once lifted or you lose the factory rake for some reason such as weight or Toyota's leaf springs doing their thing.

 

I could switch shampoos and save twice that.

the first thing I did was remove that abomination.....and sold it to an OR guy.

 

That’s where mine stays. Here in California $89 is getting close to being one fill up.

 

Air dam on or off makes no difference to me driving mainly on two lane roads under 40 mph. I took it off because, it is just ugly.

 

If nobody gave a $hit about mileage, you wouldn’t see a dozen mileage threads each week. Also looks are subjective.
